If speed wrenches were strippers...
If speed wrenches were strippers, you'd buy German ones. I love these things, they are good looking, expensive, fun to hold - they're even useful for twisting nuts and bolts! Seriously, these are top of the line German made hand tools. They come in a handy pouch that keeps other brands from touching them, because, you don't want Huskies or Kobalt's to even associate with these beauties. They have lots of neat features and colors too; for example, when your Apprentice doesn't know what a 7/16th is you just tell him "the blue one". They seem to get along with my Knipex and PB Swiss tools. A little bit of sewing machine oil and they click right along.

AMAZING, 6 years of use! so far
I love Wera, they have some high quality tools. I bought these back in 2017 and use them almost daily. Well I use the standard sizes daily 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16. But I have used every wrench in the SAE set and I’ve never had to buy another. This covers every size you will normally need. I live the gears every year with a small drop of bolistol. You can’t remove the gear to replace them but if you take care of them it should last a lifetime. They feel really good in the hand! They are easy to clean!A lot of people don’t even know that these have a bolt holding feature on them (pictured). It comes in handy if you can only reach one arm into something and have to feel for the hole. You can have it hold the bolt then put your finger on the back of it and it applies pressure but doesn’t go out the other end. Really niche but when you need it, it will save you a lot of time vs. taking off a bunch of guards or whatever you are working on to get in there.

Beautiful wrenches that work beautifully.
I have been on a high end tool kick as of late. The sting of the price is really driven away with the knowledge that I have a tool that is backed with a lifetime warranty, and that I will probably in fact use for a lifetime. Life has so many irritations in it, I love buying tools that can at least eliminate some of the smaller ones.Up until now, I had been using some Husky ratcheting wrenches. I didn't really have any problem with them. They got the job done, they took a beating and wore out or broke. When I saw these wrenches though, I had to have them. The Wera wrenches are slightly lighter than the Huskeys', which I like considering I do commercial HVAC and I am constantly climbing ladders. The open ended side has so many great design improvements. There have been many times in the field where I was violently cursing out a machine because a bolt was in such a position where I had to constantly do the flippy doo of changing the direction of the wrench just to tighten it by a fraction of a turn. With the 12 point, non-crooked open ended side of the Wera wrench though, this problem has become much less tedious. I also really like the "toothed gripping plate" that is on one side of the open jaw side. So many goobers out there have destroyed bolts that are such a pain to remove. The gripping plate at least gives you a chance of gripping these bolts. Not to mention, the gripping plate also holds nuts in place for you without them falling through. A great feature. If I had to criticize anything about these wrenches, it would only be on certain aesthetics. Personally, I like laser etched EVERYTHING. The wrenches do have the sizes stamped into the metal, but I wish the logo and turning arrows for the ratcheting side were also etched rather than printed. Like I said, I only say this if I am forced to say something negative about these wrenches. They are basically perfection. My advice to everyone is, buy these wrenches. Ignore the price. If you are professional, you owe it to yourself to own professional grade tools. If you aren't a professional but just enjoy having nice tools, Wera tools are just so damn beautiful. You can buy them and display them while you think of a reason to use them. Hell, even the box and tool bag they come in look great.

Worth the money
It's a lot to pay for a set of wrenches. Having said that they are literally the best wrenches I have ever used. I am a tradesman and a tool guy. I have lots of other sets of wrenches, but these are the tools that I use every day and don't lend out. I have a lot of other Wera hand tools and they are a step up, kind of like the "Festool" of hand tools. Really well made and thought out.As other reviewers have said, they are lighter than other wrenches, but at least as strong. I think this helps more with not dropping the tool when you're working in an awkward spot. They also have a clever built in "lip"on one side that is really useful for holding a nut. The ratcheting mechanism is silky smooth. And they seem to fit hardware better than my other wrenches. If you're a tradesman and you appreciate really well made tools, these are for you. If you're just doing stuff around the house, stick with Craftsman.

Excellent wrench set - good value.
Open end has tight fit on fasteners, one use is as replacement for line wrench on vehicle brake lines. No sloppy fit! Wrenches are comfortable in your hand and finish is less likely to slip relative to smooth chrome. Typical excellent Wera quality.Boxed ratchet end is flat to handle - tighten/loosen accomplished by flipping wrench. Works ok, but 15 degree offset with "switch" lever would be better. However, Wera's Joker offset wrenches are significantly more expensive. As a hobbyist, I couldn't justify cost of those offsets.
