Good portable companion to the Spectra S2
Good portable companion to the Spectra S2, my main pump. I use this for pumping at work.Pros:-It is compatible with the same horns and cups as the S1 and S2 (means less time sanitizing parts for me). Replacement parts are not hard to find.-It holds enough charge to get two to three 30min pump sessions. It is also compatible with the S2 charge cord.Cons:-It does not empty me. Which is fine for a secondary travel pump. I would not use this as a primary pump.-You cannot customize the vacuum and cycle settings. Each vacuum level has a set cycle count. I don't mind this, but if you're used to the S1 or S2, it might matter to you.Overall, it gets the job done and I wish I bought it sooner. I have had it for about a month and hope that it keeps performing well.

Excellent Portable Pump - Definitely Recommend
I bought this little Spectra pump for a business trip. I didn't want to lug my giant Medela Symphony all over in my carry-on. It took me a little getting used to, but now I love it. My first pump (first baby) was a Spectra S2. I loved it! If you've used and liked Spectra pumps before, I think you'll like this one. I wouldn't recommend it for a full-time pumper, but it's great for travel and part-time pumping. I've had mine about two months and use it about 8-12 times a week.Pros:The battery life is great. I can usually pump about 6 times for 15 minutes at level 7 or 8 before I need to charge again. It has 5 "massage" settings (for let-down) and 10 "expression" settings. At first it seemed a little weak (I was accustomed to my Medela) but the more I use it the better my body responds to it.It is really small and light. About the size of an iPhone. The operation is quiet compared to others. It's not silent by any means, but I pumped in my seat while on the plane and the cabin noise was enough to conceal the pump noise. The display is a good size, bright, and easy to read. It's very simple to use. If you've used a Spectra pump before, it's the same overall feel.Cons:The power switch is easy to accidentally press while carrying the pump in a purse or tote. A couple of times I've found it running inside my work tote, which drains the battery.I'm not a fan of the pump flanges and diaphragms, but there are kits out there that replace the bottle and flange setup. I don't dislike them that much that I feel like I need to buy different ones.

Small and potable, less suction than the spectra 2
I think the spectra 9+ is great for occasional pumping. It is small and portable and easy to fit into my pumping bra so I can actually walk around while pumping. It’s ideal for pumping at work as it’s quick to set up and light to carry. The downside to it is that I do not get the full suction that I do on my spectra 2. The spectra 9 plus, at its max (L10) sucks at the level of the spectra 2, L7 or L8. This might be perfectly fine for some people, but I usually pump on the spectra 2 at L10 to L12, so the spectra 9 plus does not empty my breasts as well.I still use the spectra 9 plus when getting ready in the morning, I hook it up and go do my hair and eat breakfast and all that. I also use it at work to pump as it’s easy and light to carry back and forth. The rest of the day I pump with my spectra 2 to make sure my breasts are fully emptied. The spectra 9 plus is ideal for travel, on a plane or at work, but I will save it for those occasions and still mainly use my spectra 2 to maintain my supply.

Ibclc here by far my favorite pump of all time
I am a lactation consultant ibclc and I was also an exclusive pumper. This is by far my favorite pump. It's portable and you can easily take it places but it doesn't cause clogged ducts like the hands-free ones.

Excellent smaller companion for spectra pumps
After using this to pump outside of the house for 1 week now, I'm really happy with this purchase. I have pumped at work, in the car, and on a plane with it and would 100% buy again. At first use, I wasn't sure about it compared to the S1--the massage function felt weak and I wasn't used to the single control that manipulates both speed and suction on expression mode (the higher the suction the slower the speed). However, I stuck with it and quickly realized that even though it doesn't feel as powerful as the S1 that I am used to, this pump works really well. I get the same volumes as I do with S1 in about the same time pumping. It is definitely a little bit louder than the S1 but it doesn't bother me (and again, was able to pump on the plane without attracting attention). Charge lasts >3-4 pump sessions. Note: I have tried elvies and much prefer this. I think the elvie parts are too cumbersome and more difficult to fridge hack. This pump uses all the same S1 parts that I already had (including charger, so I leave one at home and one at work), so now I have multiple flanges and valves that work for both pumps. Size is amazing--so much easier to travel with than my s1 and fits in the outside pocket of my sarah wells pumparoo bag. Overall, a definite win!
