These are an amazing alternative to the Baystar or SeaStar systems. You can’t go wrong for the price of this unit. The quality and materials are excellent and the helm is indistinguishable from the SeaStar. It appears they are the same maker for helms from SeaStar and Vevor. Best value you can find for a hydraulic steering setup. I installed it on a 90hp Honda and it is a game changer. It is very responsive, and made a huge difference in steering for my boat. The install was very simple and straight forward. The instructions are good and online videos are available as well. I have not had any issues with it or leaks.

I thought this was going to be a huge project. Turned out it took me about 1 full day 6 hours to remove my old cable steering and install this new one. I took it out for a ride yesterday and works amazing! Take your time to properly bleed hydraulics properly. When you think you're done, keep going.

they should outlaw cable steering. this makes life so much better and easier. can turn wheel with one finger but holds like a pro. docking loading everthing about boating is so much better now. this will save you time and money in the long run. 22ft deck boat 115hpmerc .

I've had this kit installed for a few months and spend approx 6 days on the water with it. Very impressed so far. So much better than cable steering. No feedback whatsoever. There are a couple videos on YouTube where guys go into detail on installation which I would recommend watching.

Honest opinion I'd recommend to everyone with a budget its easy installation only reason 4 stars for now is this my first year with it see how long it last I'll be back to report next year if it dont fail during the season ill change to 5

The fit was as it was advertised. It fixed the issue .

Beware, just spend your money on the legit Baystar hydraulic steering! Thought I’d save some money, after all they’re simple what could go wrong. Terrible decision. Vevor sent me a factory defective unit with a small leak coming from one of the screws that are fastened inside the unit. This screw is one of the 4 screws that attach the helm/pump to my console and are completely inaccessible. Their response was to have me apply thread locker to the leaking screw, which is internally fastened, meaning that you can’t access it to even unscrew it. So I need to fix their defect, but the very screw is inaccessible. Read that all again, let it sink in before you hit “buy”! I’ve copied their exact response below so you don’t waste your money like I did. Take a look at my picture.“We found that you turned the fixing screw too hard and pushed the screw hole, you need to unscrew the screw, apply some thread fastener, and then put it back in to restore it to normal”
