The mouth piece and purge valve come off tube in one piece.

Q: About how big is the mouthpiece and how is it ergonomically designed? How comfortable do your teeth fit around the bite tabs? Does it have a bridge that fits behind your top teeth toward the roof of your mouth like some other snorkels do?

I'm average 6ft man and it fits nicely in my mouth. The teeth grip is comfortable. No problems with breast or free strokes.

Q: will a mask that covers your nose fit with this training snorkel?

Although aimed to give scuba tourist a "no frame-showing" panoramic view, the mask made with short skirt and two pieces of glass that nearly touch your cheek bone fit under these center-mount snorkels, YES

Q: Is there a longer version or an extension available?

Why? It’s a training aid and if you have proper head position it works perfect.
