Almost perfect
This is a great mount, but SEVERELY lacks in the magnet strength. I have a larger phone (S22 Ultra) and the phone will not stay in place and droops down while driving, it has even fallen off the phone mount once. Ive tried using another brand ball mount socket with no improvement so maybe there is something I'm missing. Will have to try to find something that attaches to this mount better. The mount part that attaches to the vents though, is very well put together and doesn't bend the vents, doesn't move, and is very sturdy.

Best bmw phone mount!
The media could not be loaded. For my bmw I’ve tried the dash mounted cell phone holder, was an eye sore, hated it. Clipon to the dash would be the same. Windshield mount I considered but I already have a dash cam. This is the best cell phone holder I could find. Looks OEM factory!Doesn’t block anything, except hazards (you can still reach them) and door unlock (can easily reach this also). If you angle your cell phone certain ways, you won’t block your radio presets (if you even use them) nor your display screen.I listed various pics so you can see the many angles your phone can turn to your liking (portrait or landscape style).Only negative that bothered me personally is the self adhesive sticker on back of the circle magnet that you have to stick on your cell phone (you have to live with this also btw), was very weak and it fell off in a day. One simple dab of $1 store krazy glue resolved the sticking issue! Only after I glued it lower on the back of my phone then I wanted. Trial and error! The circle magnet you attach on the phone should be closer to the middle, not closer to the bottom. The weight of the phone will tilt the entire phone as you drive, no good. Soon as I scrapped it off and moved it up (see my pic attached), it was the perfect spot. The seller does give you a few magnets n stickers to work with, so I’d clean the back of your phone or phone case well, stick it on, and then mount it. Then drive and play with the angles as you feel fit. If you have to adjust it, move the magnet again until it’s in a good place. Then I’d put a tiny dab of krazy glue in the final spot! I have another phone case I’ll be swapping, the current one was old anyway! Ps: Gorilla glue didn’t hold!Well worth this purchase in my opinion!

Great bracket, questionable magnet, and annoying but very sturdy install (including install review)
This is not your standard vent clip mount. This mounts very securely to the trim using barrel screws and an Allen wrench. The mount is very sturdy, made of one piece of I believe aluminum with a decent finish. Looks right at home, and is perfectly and evenly cut to allow access to hazards etc.The only complaint I have is the magnet in the mount. It could be stronger or have a stickier rubber coating, but the entire articulating magnetic pad is attached to the main dash mount using 1 screw in the back, and can be converted if you're good at diy sort of things. The install is simple but tedious and honestly annoying, but it can be done in 10-15min and likely won't ever need to be fiddled with again. To install, first make sure the screws in the base of the mount are not protruding towards the center of the mount, and fit the mount to the car, holding it in place. Using the included Allen wrench with the plate fitted to the trim, tighten all four barrel screws evenly so that the mount is sitting evenly with the cut outs for the buttons. Once all 4 are tightened, its good to go. (Easiest way to make sure it lines up is to fit the mount to the car and push it all the way so that only the 2 screws on one side are touching. Tighten those screws until they line up with the cut outs perfectly. Then tighten the other side, ensuring not to over tighten, and it should stay lined up. For me, installing it from the passenger side, I lined it up using the screws away from me on the driver's side first since you can still place and remove the bracket at will).Basically, you won't find a better hard mount, but the magnet really leaves a lot to be desired.

Disappointed
Total frustration for after several attempts to install it on my bmw 640i…. It would stay attached to the vent blades, let alone hold the phone. I finally gave up and returned it unfortunately because it looks nice and doesn’t take up much space.

Difficult to put it on
It is very difficult to put it on and It does not stay on very stable. Mine came without one screw as well. Needs a better mechanism to fit this thing in place

Difficult to install
But I won't take any stars for that. It will try your patience though. Some reported the magnet to be weak. My phone has a case that has a magnet in it but the poles are not correct and the phone keeps falling off. So I mounted a metal plate (small) on the back of the case with some 3M tape. The magnet on the product is very powerful. One just has to improvise, adapt, and overcome the situation. One will prevail and one will be happy. Again, put on your patience hat when installing. I would think that an angled allen wrench (45°) would be perfect for the install and make it a whole lot easier. The weight of the phone causes the phone and gripper to move around too much.11/8/2023 - I found a way to get the actual gripping device to not move so much. The magnet portion is attached to the ball by... yet, magnets. If one pulls the device from the ball, one can put something, like part of a rubber glove, to keep the gripper from moving around so much. I used the tip of a rubber glove thumb, slipped it over the ball and replace the gripper. Now the gripper does not move around as much with my Galaxy A51 5G. Just a thought.4/4/2024 - I have since modified the mount so I can use my Samsung A7 Tablet. I removed the ball (2.5mm allen key/M4 bolt 10mm total length), expanded the hole in the mount to accept 1/4-20x.5" screw and placed a 17mm ball on the mount. Still works fine and the mount will accept either my tablet or my Samsung A54 5G phone. On the side regarding the magnet strength, I found that it can hold my tablet without any issues. I am still a happy camper with this product.Additionally, the 4 mounting screws are M3x5mm and take a 1.5mm allen wrench.
