DIY Nut Milks, Nut Butters . . .
With ever growing concerns about health books like this become ever more important. Most all commercial nut milks contain unwanted and unhealthy ingredients and most are not organic. Making nut milks is not that hard but if one needs recipes/guidance then this little book is a gem. In addition to making nut milks, it also contains recipes for using the leftover nut meal, for smoothies and nut butters, ice creams and cooked and uncooked dessert recipes. All recipes are vegan but one would not have to be a vegan to find this book more than useful. I made the fudge day before yesterday and I have to smack my hand away from the tray as it is so good (and easy to make). All recipes use nuts/nut milk along with fruits and coconut in various forms. This book is and will remain an integral part of my kitchen.

Delicious, Healthy and bringing my Cholesterol down!!
Wow, I recently switched to LCHF eating plan and the results have been amazing and my blood work came back all clear and optimal health, except one thing...my cholesterol was 4 points from optima (103 instead of 99). So I wanted to incorporate more nuts and oatmeal instead of butters back into my diet and ran into this book. All I have to say is OMG, this book is amazing! I already whipped up the almond butter within minutes of getting the book and now I'm on her website trying out the truffles. The recipes are amazing, especially the caramel oats, mmmmmmmm. And another joyous thing, is that they are EASY to follow, not a lot of crazy ingredients and most are about 6 or less. Also the things she does with the pulp....absolutely amazing and so simple, I love it! and highly recommend it whether you are LCHF, primal, Vegan, etc......it's a great must have for everyone's recipe pantry and to top it off, it's not only delicious, but healthy! :)

Improve your health through food
Almost a year ago, I decided to go with a Feeding Tube or die. I chose Life. I am 63.Rejecting the commercial formulas made by Nestle's I decided to make my own food. Using a high speed blender really helped me make this transition so much easier. I'm also not a big fan of prescribed medication.I decided to go with this book because it allows me to make Magnesium Rich nuts and seeds into milk, which I use as a base for my smoothies. There's not a day goes by that I don't use the recipes she offers on a daily basis. If you like smoothies, I urge you to try this book. It's got recipes and fantastic information about the health benefits that nuts and seeds can do for your health!

however I LOVE this book
I'm not vegan, gluten free or any of the other popular eating styles out there, however I LOVE this book. I have a major sweet tooth and wanted to try and find more wholesome treats to enjoy. I stumbled upon the authors website http://mywholefoodlife.com and fell in love with her treats and meals. When she announced her new book was going to be published I was worried it would have the same recipes as her blog. I purchased it anyway to support Melissa since I am grateful for all her recipes. I am happy to report this book has even more wonderful recipes that I have not seen on her website. I am very excited to create some of these yummy treats and milks. My 3 year old daughter (who is the only in the family who will join me in my wholefoods way, thus far) has really enjoyed looking through the book and keeps telling me what she wants me to make next. Just like the blog, the book is beautifully photographed. Thanks for a wonderful cookbook full of wholesome recipes!

Beats My Expectations!
I received my copy of this book from Amazon today. I am so excited! I knew it would be great because I have been a member of Melissa Kerr Kings's FB group "My Whole Food Life Recipes" since I started my whole foods plant based diet a year ago. My expectations where high, however this book is 100 times even better than I could have imagined. It is a great book especially for people just starting out eating WFPB way of eating. Recipes are easy to make with a minimal amount of ingredients. It is well illustrated with alluring photoes of wonderful recipes. The kitchen tips at the beginning are helpful in making sure foods turn out great when you make them. Even well experienced cooks are going to want to enjoy the yummy recipes. Well worth the price I paid!!!

Skeptical at first, but pleasantly surprised by tastefulness and functionality of recipes.
The introduction gives a good primer explaining what are and the types of nut sauces, butters, milks and pulps as well as how to make them. The book doesn't just concentrate on peanuts and almonds, but cashews, hazelnuts, pistachio, pecans, brazilnuts and even sunflower seeds (for those guests who are allergic to nuts) It delves into an assortment of recipes each being tasty, PRACTICAL and not tricky to make. The ingredients are easy to find and or make. And a lot of finished recipes are made with a yield that is cheaper than if store-bought.

The Best Cookbook!
My new favorite cookbook! Melissa did a fantastic job explaining every recipe. When I first got the book I read the whole thing in one sitting. I have always been intimidated by making my own nut milk. Now I am not! I love how she shows you what to do with the leftover pulp so there is no waste. I love how many different ideas of variations she gives! There are SO many possibilities! After making several of the recipes, I can already tell that this will be the only cookbook where I use ALL of the recipes, over and over! My family has followed Melissa's blog (Mywholefoodlife) for almost 2 years now, we have never been disappointed. Our family is healthier and has a renewed love of cooking and baking all due to Melissa's recipes. This is a must have book!

Melissa was one of the first bloggers I started following when I began eating more whole foods. I was so excited when I saw that she was coming out with a cookbook. Needless to say, I have not been disappointed. The maple cinnamon macadamia spread was a huge hit with my friends and I can't wait to share more healthy recipes with them as they aren't all very receptive to whole foods. I also made cookies with my five year old and my husband has gobbled them up. I'm so excited to try more of these recipes, especially because Melissa has never let me down!
