Challenge cards
I bought these without an incredibly clear idea what they do (my child asked for "Scratch" for Christmas, so I wanted something branded and physical). It is not a book or a booklet, they are not flash cards. They are just big cards, each with a particular challenge, like "make my sprite move" or "make my sprite dance", and with very simple step-by-step instructions on the reverse side.My child (age 7) is motivated to play Scratch together. And there are problems we need to solve perfectly described on the cards. And, the cards do function as a pretty good ice breaker (for example, if I didn't have software experience I might find it a very helpful guide to pair programming with her). BUT: in my particular child's case, she doesn't often trust that my suggestion to try a particular card to solve our problem, will work.As with any programming language, I will give it more time.
