My 7 yr old asked me about WW2 so i ordered this book for us to read together. It's fairly easy to read by herself and has a ton of pictures, photographs and information. It was great to read about something that actually happened but then talk about how that shaped the future (i.e. women working during war time). Overall it answered my daughter's questions and uncovered up a new love for history.

I picked this book with the other books in this series out as a birthday gift for my grandson. He has become very interested in history. He also has expressed interest in the military and American Wars. My wife is a retired school teacher and stated that she was familiar with this book series. She stated that it was an excellent book for a youth learning experience. But the next important thing is he was beyond excited when realized what it was.

My grandson is a WWII fan. He loves this book! I bought it used and he said it was in perfect condition! Like new! DK books are always great!

The book is not in very good condition with a broken spine. Other than that it's a good book as a broad look at WWII. A good book for young middle school age students even high school if they weren't taught about WWII in school. If you are looking for something better, DK does have better more in depth books on the subject.

I originally bought the book for my grandson. He was always asking me questions about the history of wars in America. So I bought him several Eyewitness books on the various wars.What I found it that the books included wonderful pictures plus the informative information. I read every one of them along with him.I just wish the books would have gone into more detail with more pictures, but then I had to remember that this is a book for children...although I enjoyed them as much as my grandson did.

This book is great for younger kids and has lots of great interesting facts that I didn’t even know about! Worth the read and my brother loved it.

Loaded with pictures to support the facts. Very engaging for kids and adults alike. Also gives great resources to further investigate.

I purchased this for my 8 year old grandson, who has a huge interest in WWII. I was totally unprepared for his response, which was "This is the best present I ever got". Big praise from a child who has everything. He was totally engrossed in the book for hours. I think he will continue to enjoy this book for the next few years. I was surprised at how much he already knows about this subject, and how he related to the material.
