The new Trail Rain Suits are kid tested! We incorporated a much softer fabric for the suit body, while keeping the ever popular neoprene ankle cuffs for a great grip around rubber rain boots with adjustable velcro straps on the wrist and ankle cuffs for a customized fit. This suit is made with Nylon Taslon PU coated fabric that meets a waterproof rating of 8,000mm to keep your child dry in light pressure rain, while also maintaining breathability up to 3,000mvp.The suit includes a waterproof zipper, attached hood, and fully taped seams to keep water out. Whether you’re hiking, camping, jumping on the playground, or simply caught in the rain, this suit will keep your kiddo dry and happy. Roomy enough to fit over most clothing and fit the average size child beautifully and includes a draw-string cinch around the waist to ensure this kids trail suit fits your little one. Reflective tape on the arms and chest keep your child safe in the evening. Dirt and mud wash off easily. To prolong the waterproof capabilities of the suit, the softness of the fabric and seam tape – hand washing combined with air drying is highly recommended. If you need to machine wash the suit, please follow instructions on the interior suit tag.

Excellent product!
We have the trail rainsuit in 3T and it is a must-have garment in the Pacific Northwest (or anywhere besides the hot desert or tropics!). My son is currently 18 mo, 33" tall, and 26 lbs (24 mo clothing) and the 3T is baggy so hopefully it will last many seasons. We cinch the waist drawstring so it doesn't sag or look baggy and Velcro the wrist and ankle straps snug to keep out water/mud and it works wonders! In the attached photo he had been sitting and stomping in very muddy puddles at the end of a hike. When we got to the car, I stripped the suit off him with his boots still attached to it and he was completely clean and dry underneath and ready to get in the car. I was skeptical about purchasing a suit at the end of winter but then I remembered camping in the rain last August! We will use this year-round. My son can now go out in our yard when the grass is wet and roll around with his tonka trucks without having to change him out of wet or muddy clothes afterward. The seams are totally taped and the quality of the material is very nice and durable yet flexible. It's backed with some sort of mesh-like material so the waterproof material doesn't have that tacky, rubbery feeling that some waterproof things do when you are trying to get little arms and legs into it. He also has room underneath for warmer layers in the winter. Great product and great customer service at Oakiwear!

Comparison with Tuffo, sizing info
Purchased Oakiwear 6/7 and 8/9 after needing size up from our beloved Tuffo Muddy Buddies (2T-5T). Comparing Oakiwear 6/7 with Tuffo 5T: the Oakiwear is one inch longer in the leg and 2 inches longer in the sleeve, has Velcro wrists/ankles instead of elastic, a drawstring waist instead of a baggy middle. Oakiwear has reflective tape where Tuffo does not. The difference between the Oakiwear 6/7 and 8/9 is 1 inch in sleeve 2 inches in leg. That's not enough for us -- my tall/thin 8yr old wears a size 8 but the Oakiwear 8/9 is too short in the torso and legs! We kept it because my 5yr old will be needing them soon. Size up on the Oakiwear if you have tall kids!

Great rain and snow suit
I bought this a month ago for a rambunctious 4 year old in a seriously rainy state. He's used it most days of the week since. I got it a size large and it fit as I expected.I love this rain suit! He has fallen and scuffed around on the ground, but it hasn't torn or abraded. He has plenty of freedom of movement for running, throwing, climbing, and kicking, but it's not cumbersome. The hood is awesome, and fits him with or without a hat underneath. The zipper has held up to serious rain. For puddle stomping in the rain, I pair this with rainboots and so far there've been zero wet socks. We've had some really slushy snows where it's snowing and raining kind of at the same time, and this thing has been great. I just stuck a couple of extra layers underneath and it was a perfect waterproof snowsuit. I also love that it is reflective. You can definitely see it from a ways a way in a car.UPDATE: It's now May 5th 2017. The rain suits have weathered 5 months of very wet winter play in the pacific northwest. My preschoolers played hard in them -- puddle stomping, running around in muddy fields, slipping/sliding, playing in the snow and the rain. Both the suits we bought are in excellent condition after hard wear, and not always the best care. There were a few times when they sat with mud caked on them for several days before I could get to them to clean them, and they often were worn several times in one day. They performed beautifully and kept my kids dry and warm every time. There were NO leaks. Also, when it snowed, it was really nice to be able to dress the kids in super comfy long underwear and a fleece layer, then just zip up the suits--no actual clothes required. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Be it snow, rain and/or wind, my Oakiwear clad Forest School Students were way more comfortable than their friends, hands down.
I facilitate/lead a Forest School at Montessori Peace Centers in Bellingham, WA, a non-profit Montessori school with a mission of serving families who can't afford pre-school/childcare. One of my students and his younger sister had this suit, and now, due to my advertising for you, two of the other pre-schoolers have them, plus my 7 year old daughter. Another two families chose similar suits, but I prefer yours as they can easily put them on and zip them independently.. Not so with the Muddy Buddy. My daughter will only wear hers on outings with our family as she carries a fashion conscious attitude when she hikes with the older group in our Maker Space/Forest School homeschooler group. They seem to dress fairly unprepared. I guess she doesn't want to match the pre-school children who she loves to help out with. Fair enough. But I've seen these in action during the worst winter weather I could have imagined for my first year out with these kiddos (2 1/2 hrs out, no matter what the weather). Be it snow, rain or wind, my Oakiwear clad Forest School students were way more comfortable than their friends, hands down. I'm encouraging others to get Oakiwear. If Oakiwear wanted to sent our school a couple of complementary Trail Suits, so other children can try them out, or children who can't afford proper gear could stay warm, I think we could supply Oakiwear with a steady flow of orders throughout the years! Parents ooohhh and aaahhh over them and passersby on the college campus we frequent on our hikes do too. Think, future parents! Great advertising right?!

Wonderful, must have product
These suits are amazing! They fit as you expect but order a few sizes up. They cinch down well and can last for multiple years. We are out in the pouring rain as I write this (well, my kids are, I'm hiding under an umbrella). They're dry and happy and jumping in puddles rather than whining inside.I can't say enough good things about these rain suits!
