When a female CSM recommended I get this book for my military kid clients I got it right away! I am glad I did! I showed it to the Military One Source reps and they loved it, too!

Comparing superhero abilities to the many amazing abilities, tasks, and expertise women in the military have is uplifting and eyeopening to young readers who may or may not have family in the military. This book belongs in every school and public library and it is a MUST have for any child who has a loved one who has served or is serving. Pair with Hero Dad, by the same author, to expose readers to the amazing feats of both genders in the service of protecting our country. Excellent read aloud for Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

I chose this book for five stars because I felt that the message and photos and the book's message being a short one because it was a kid's book was done very well! I like this book for all the above reasons that I have aready stated in the first sentence or two. I recommend this book for the young kids and perhaps older ones who have to deal,with their mom's not being there by their side taking great care of them like some children have and for any young people who may need to have to sometime go thru this themselves soon perhaps. Cute book. Talks about the big main jobs in the military but not the smaller less popular ones. My kids still enjoy it.

Delightful to look at, delightful to hold, but when I read the blurb, We had to mark it "Sold" ! a children's book - naturally... how can you go wrong? WE grew up with Grimm's fairy tales and other things we though were benign, but seeing them remade into movies and different venues, they weren't so innocent, were they? lol - These, today, were written by younger folk, who have broken the old habits we had of Snow White and Rumpelstiltskin... Can't go wrong with these books.. seriously. - Some of these stories are more focused on parents who have perilous jobs, or have to go away.
