Penetrating Analysis of the Modern Condition
Although written in the 1950's this book is very relevant to the2020's. The mass hysteria on both the left and the right in politics, stirred up by social media, an overweening rationalism that despises the mystical, the manipulation of political and commercial interests, produce a society that is dead to self knowledge and is controlled by those seeking only power. The phenomenon of Trumpism, populist nationalism and the confusion over gender identity and leftist politics that sees everything in terms of a narrative of oppression evidence this. Jung sees all this as leading to the sort of disasters seen in the twentieth century. He believed that only psychological self awareness and a return to the mystical through religion can save us. I agree with him.

Generally, revaluations are afoot if there is Jung in the title. This, a fractional glimpse of the message of the prophetic young. One I wouldn't be without and I highly recommend it. Guaranteed to get the imagination and the intellect working unison!
