Good illustrations but tediously long and not a very exciting story

Brilliant story for little boys who love pirates and dinosaurs. I read this to my 5yo son at bedtime and it held his attention throughout. It took about 5-6 mins to read the full book. A decent length for a bedtime story. We also used it for world book day. It would be too difficult for him to read at the moment but I'm sure in a few years time he will be able to read by himself and enjoy it just as much.

These books are simply great! They contain loads of details that kids spot ( you don of course!) and they have excellent stories with good humour and the ability to suspend belief for a while and then wonder whether it was real or not. Great stuff!

My children, ages 5 - 9, love this book. The illustrations are fun and whimsical. The story is imaginative and perfect for bedtime reading. We received our first copy as a gift and purchased another as a gift because we liked it so much.
