Guittard Milk Chocolate Baking Chips

God, so much better than Ghirardelli, not to mention Hershey's, Nestle's, and even feebler store brands. Really, if you want to make a great chocolate chip cookie, buy these guys.

These are so good that it is hard not to eat them right out of the bag. I was thinking of ordering them for chocolate snacks. The cookies I made were so good.

Too Expensive though

This company makes the best chocolate chips. Our family's favorite.They don't have that nasty bitter aftertaste that other companies have. Per my convo with company today, their chocolate chips are made with cane sugar, non-rbst dairy products, tested GMO free soya lecithin, and real vanilla. I haven't found any other chocolate chips that don't use GMO ingredients yet that are sold in regular grocery stores! Doesn't get much better than that IMHO."Update: 10/8/14 Noticed the label on Guittard's Milk Chocolate and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips says they're using Sunflower Lecithin instead of Soya lecithin now. Yeah! I imagine that it has gotten near impossible to find non-GMO soy anymore in the U.S., since as of 2014, 94% of the soy in the US is GMO now. You can find USDA "Organic Kikkoman Soy Sauce" at Sprout's--the label says it's brewed in Japan. We all know who to thank for ruining another very important crop! Very yucky! : ( Thank you Japan for saying no to GMO!

The BEST chocolate available with the best ingredients! I buy them at Vons grocery stores here in Southern California for $3.75 so I dont have to pay for over priced amazon products these days. I bought a peanut butter mold for $1.99 at Michaels store and took 2 teaspoons of Guittard milk chocolate chips with 2 teaspoons of organic peanut butter and microwaved for 30 seconds then mixed then up together really good and put them into the peanut butter cup mold then put them into the freezer for 10 minutes and took them out and then into the fridge to enjoy whenever I want. They are the most delicious peanut butter cups ever. I did not add any sugar or salt as recipes often call for. These peanut butter cups are now more like a health bar to eat because of so much peanut butter. Try this recipe out and you will love it!

Guittard chocolate chips are hands-down the best out there. They've ruined every single other brand out there for me, including Ghirardelli.Here's the scoop:---NO vanillin. One of my biggest pet peeves is when manufacturers use artificial flavors. They use them not because it makes a better product but because it is cheap. Real vanilla is pricier but it is worth it for the beautiful taste and aroma, not to mention the artificial crap certainly cannot be good for us. There is no funny, cloying synthetic aftertaste with Guittard chips.---Creamy texture. These chips have that wonderful chocolately "snap" but is followed by a silky smooth, creamy consistency that is a dream for your tongue.---Correct sweetness. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Just right for this Goldilocks.---Perfect cocoa balance. These chips are rich and chocolatey but also have that wonderful dairy balance(AND IT IS NOT POWDERED MILK like Ghirardelli uses. Why does Ghirardelli use powdered milk? Right. Because it is cheap.)Sometimes I prefer darker chocolate, and that is when I eat Guittard's semisweet or dark chocolate chips, which are equally as good in quality as their milk chocolate chips.These chips cost more than some (all? most?) other brands but it is warranted by their higher quality. I'm not sure if their price fluctuates here on Amazon, but in grocery stores where they carry this fine brand usually average around $5 per bag. I was even lucky once to find them at Christmas Tree Shop for a mere $3 per bag. I nearly emptied the bin!If you ever get the chance to try any of Guittard's chocolate chips, please allow yourself the treat. But be careful! Once you are accustomed to the best, you won't be able to settle for any of the rest.
