This is a product that I have needed for a very long time and didn't know it. I have several plants and bushes that tend to have another (usually invasive) that are very difficult to get to, especially the European Palm out front. The palm has spines on the stalks and always scratches or stabs my arms every time. After the last time my wife & I trimmed it last week, somewhat unsuccessfully and got stabbed and scratched, I wondered if there was a "One Handed Long Handled Pruning Shears" and this type came up. After a little research, I decided on this set because it appeared to be made very strong and it really it. Metal handle, not plastic like so many of them are and the length would be perfect for our needs. I is definately worth forty bucks.

This long handled clipper is the best tool ever. I have a hard time bending and this is the only tool that I can use to snip weeds and hanging branches. We live on 15 acres that has a lot of maintenance and this tool is invaluable. I've been using it now for 6 months and it's still going strong. It really does cut up to 1/2 inch branches.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This tool is lightweight. I replaced a tool that required arm action with this tool that has a hand grip activation. The blade is sharp. It’s easy to use . It’s lightweight.. It only got four stars because the lock mechanism is very tight and difficult… it’s basically a screw that you slide up or down… and it does not slide well.I have only had this for a short time. The other thing that could possibly affect my review would be how long the head lasts. AI indicates that there is no mention of being able to buy the heads separately. This is not a tool that I will use every day and hopefully it will not matter. If this were a tool, I was going to use regularly. I would go for a brand that would allow the blades to be replaced.

Easy to use. Not heavy but sturdy, I can use one hand and, it's long enough to cut the branch. The fact that it has that red on one side of the blade, I can see what I'm cutting. The handle is not plastic.

After years of cutting my Pygmy palms that have spike thorn .and getting spiked in the arms . Finally found a cutting tool that's long and cuts like butter. For the money it's well worth money. Makes pruning a breeze .And it's built very well .

Great tool just what I needed to dead head Lincoln roses. Those thing have mean thorns
