I bought this cable to power my 30 year old Sony CD/Tape/Radio player. It works just fine. The connection is a little loose to the back of the Sony but I think Sony's original connector was a little custom. But it still works.

Got this cause it was cheap and I needed a new cord for my CFD-S22. Like another reviewer stated, yes this fit the boombox physically. However, it did not allow the boombox to powerup. I had C batteries on hand to make sure it wasn’t a mechanical failure on my boombox’s side of things. The C batteries worked but this cord did not. I ended up ordering an official OEM cable instead.Getting this one was a waste of time, money, and effort.

Came quickly and works great.
