Simpson Strong-TieSDWS22600DB-RC12 6" x .220 Timber Screws (Exterior Grade) 12ct

These are pretty large screws and are perfect for holding up an old set of stairs on my upper deck that were getting pretty wobbly. Not anymore. Steadfast and sturdy, thanks to these giant screws. A little pricey, but once you get them you'll understand why. They come with the appropriate bit, and they went in fairly easily which was a nice surprise. I figured it was gonna be a bit of a tussle due to their size, but the thread design on them seemed to help them go right in, no problem. When the day comes to tear down the deck for replacement, (which probably isn't far down the road) I will definitely pull these out and save them for future use. But for now, they are just what the deck doctor ordered.

They screw in flush without pilot holes, very easy to use (with a powered tool) and can be backed out if necessary. I use a lot of copper wood treatment so I’m really glad for the corrosion resistant coating.

Outstanding used to save a repaired 3 cord truss to me engineer's permitted repair.
