Quality wise, I'd say these boots are somewhere between Doc Martens and Red Wings. Updated, Failed after 1 month!
I've only owned and have been wearing these a week as of this writing.I'd like to start out with the positive: This is a good looking boot. The pair I received did vary slightly in style. The heel came as stacked leather with a bonded rubber tread unlike the (current to this writing) picture which has just a leather sole and full rubber heel. I prefer the stacked leather heel, so win. The leather is top grade, thick and tough. The stitching is done right and the insole is very comfortable. These boots are much lighter than I would've believed by looking at the picture. Now for the not so great stuff: After a week of wearing these to work, I'm not thrilled with the way they're breaking in. The toe cap is collapsing on the top already. I would expect this after a 6-9 months of daily wear but not this fast. The laces seem flimsy and you feel like they're getting cut by the speed lace hooks when you cinch the laces down. The speed hooks also are bent at different angles. Which defeats the purpose of them because you have to watch as you lace up the boot to make sure the lace is actually seated in the hook.Reading other reviews, I'd gather there are some manufacturing variations happening as the life of the Wilcox Boot evolves and you should expect a boot slightly different than the picture. But, all in all, I feel confident that these boots won't fail me any time soon. They're well made with the right leathers, type of sole and stitching. The rubber tread's life remains to be seen. The lugs are already showing signs of rounding on the edges. Still, I expect to get a year of daily work wear out of them before they get downgraded to weekend chore boots. According to their website you can re-tread them, however I find that procedure never really turns out well as you'd expect. Price wise, I think they're on the high end of what I like to spend on a boot that I don't have to worry about damaging while wearing them in a warehouse environment. But, I got lucking and snagged a pair during a Lightening Deal for a more acceptable price. Keep these boots on your short list and watch for deals. Quality wise, I'd say these boots are somewhere between Doc Martens and Red Wings. Two stars off for the laces, bent speed hooks and most of all the collapsing toe.Update: The stitching of the right inside toe cap has split out. There is a hole in the leather right through the side. See picture. Bummer, I really wanted to like these boots. I will attempt a warranty repair or whatever they offer me and let you know. But, as of right now, I'd tell you not spend your money on these boots.

Great looking boots, small size
The boots look great. They're assembled well and seem like a quality product for the money. The sizing is way off. I wear a 12 in almost everything. I cannot even get my foot in the boot. If I could, my toes would be jammed at the end. I'm going to try a 13 and see what happens.9/8/17I'm upgrading my review from three stars to five stars. I ordered the size 14 (size 13 is not available on Amazon.) The fit is slightly large with cotton crew socks, but with a quality wool sock, they are very comfortable. Mikee from Wilcox corresponded with me via email and worked very hard to make the situation right. The post-sale support was nothing short of outstanding.

Defective?
Bought these as a replacement for my first pair that were pretty perfect but got damaged in an accident. I ordered my first pair through their website and like I said they were pretty much perfect. This time around, the construction of the boot is still great but the leather was very different from the first pair or anything shown online, much darker and redder with a finished feel. Not only that but the left boot is a slightly different tone than the right. Not to mention the cap-toe portion is crooked on both left and right boots. The only reason this review isn't one star is because the boot still felt like it could last a million miles, but definitely returning.

UPDATED First pair got returned due to defect. But Wilcox stands behind their product. Great customer service.
I want to start off by saying that I had to return my initial pair of boots. Which was very disappointing because these boots are sharp, fit like a glove, and look good with jeans or dress pants. I returned them because the weld on the heel of my left boot was separating. I had been wearing them almost daily for about a month and a half. No hiking or rigorous stuff. Wilcox customer service and Amazon were excellent! I contacted them via the Amazon seller's link and Wilcox promptly responded and offered two solutions. They would pay for a local cobbler to repair the weld or I could returned them via Amazon and they would give me a 25% discount. After working out the return details with Amazon because it was past 30 days I chose to return the boots. The second pair showed up and I inspected them closely. They are a great looking boot and the workmanship looks to be very good. The only downside to the boots, both pairs, is that the insoles are not very supportive. As I was initially breaking in my first pair after about two weeks I was getting shin and lower back pain if I was in them over 6 hours. So, I went and picked up a pair of Super feet copper inserts. I walked out of that store with instant relieve and it made these boots super comfortable. So, I highly recommend that you invest in a quality insert.I'll keep this review updated after I have broke in and wore the second pair for a couple of months. I am a little concerned about how they will hold up. But, by the looks of this second set I feel like they may be put together better than the last. Time will tell.UPDATE - After about two months of wearing my replacement pair of boots the eyelets in my left boot began to come out. Four of them. I took pictures and sent them to Wilcox and told them that I think they really need to raise the standards of quality on the production floor. I also wanted a refund. I got a response a couple of days later thanking me for the pictures and that the message will get passed on. Then they issued me a full refund. I am really disappointed that these boots have not worked out. BUT I HAVE A TON OF RESPECT FOR WILCOX CUSTOMER SERVICE. I sincerely hope that the quality does go up in time and they are successful.
