Mine broke, too.
This lawn aerator works very well until the handle breaks. Mine broke exactly as described in other reviews, after less than 8 hours of use. I had the break welded without added reinforcing steel (cost me $5); I expect it to break again, and I'll have it welded again but next time with reinforcement. The bad handle makes this aerator "junk," but the well designed and robust tines (coring tubes) make it "excellent" -- hence my 3 stars.

I wouldn't use it to do a whole yard but works great to do spot aerating in heavily thatched areas.
Solidly built tool. Great for spot aerating which is what I bought it for.
