Davina - Fitness Combo [DVD] [2014]

Excellent as usual from davina
I bought this combo as I had recently started to get back into fitness. To give an idea of my fitness levels, up until 5 months ago I had been very fit - working out 5x a week including twice a week with a personal trainer. However I hadn't properly exercised for 5 months, due to being very unwell. When I started these DVDs I'd been doing some home exercise DVDs for about a month. If I were able to score the 2 DVDs separately I would give intense 5 stars and fit in15 4 stars. I mainly use the cardio and abs sections, as I tend to do my own weight training- heavier weights and fewer reps)Good pointsGood warm up on intenseRequires little space ( so often fitness DVDs don't take into account how much room people actually have in the average living room to work out - davina workouts always do.)No overly complicated dance moves to learnFeels like you're working out with friendsAs is HITT based differs from other workouts so good to mix with other DVDs for variety.- cardio good level- not too easy. Has modifications all the way through though if want to do easier versions.Bad pointsI feel fit in 15 is just a bit short. Because there is no separate warm up- a bit of warming up and cooling down is also included in the 15 minute workout, so the actual time you're working hard is even shorter. Although you do work hard once it gets going. I've mainly used it as an add on.I've been doing intense 3x a week, and doing another fitness dvd another 2x a week for about a month now. I've definitely noticed it's upped my fitness level. You don't notice it so much when doing the dvd, because you always work as hard and as fast as you can, but I've noticed on the 2 days I do other DVDs, workouts I previously found cardiovascularly challenging are a lot easier. I'm not overweight, but I had put on a few kg whilst being unwell I wanted to lose. I haven't lost weight, but I do feel like I've lost some inches with my clothes feeling a little looser

Not My Favourite Davina
I am amending my review because over time I have come to enjoy this dvd set more - it's less immediate than some of her others so took me awhile to get used to! I have come to really like the individual sections - just being able to squeeze in an arm or leg workout is very handy.I have two other Davina sets, this one is my least favourite. The workouts don't flow or get into a natural fun feeling the way some of her others do, the aerobics is my least favourite when normally those are my favourite. The moves all just feel repetitive and jarring/hard on the body. You can work up a sweat with less hard impact, and I don't actually sweat as much with this as with other Davina sets. The instructions about switching from left to right for kicks and things are non-existent so it can be hard to follow. Too much jumping for me but my knees can't handle a lot of jumping. I do like the separate arm workout and the stretching section is good but I don't see why they couldn't have just had a proper 5-10 minute stretch at the end of each workout as it's a pain to select another workout just to stretch. Wouldn't be my first pick for starting out with Davina, prefer her old interval style workouts in Davina Power of 3, 30 minutes, etc, which I was bored of as I did them so much, so I bought this but will probably go back to as enjoy them more!

DO IT DO IT DO IT
Love it love it love it love it. the 15 min workout is perfect for the mornings before work, the intense one is great to get your hard rate up and you really feel knackered afterwards. Helps me de-stress and Davina is so lovely and funny that I am generally laughing a long especially at her facial expressions when it gets really hard. There's an easy version and hard version so you can build up to the difficult parts. I would soooooooo recommend it above any other fitness DVD, i've been doing her dvds for years and they are great!

Start with Fit in 15 and move to Intense
I was doing no exercise so purchased these and I love them both. Started with the fit in 15 doing two lots 3 times a week, it's fairly straight forward and not too difficult. EventuallyI got a bit bored so started the Intense DVD. It's much harder, there is a 12min warm up (which is enough), then a 20min cardio box, a 13min abs, and a 25min tonning. I do warm up, cardio, abs and then toning - they are all great and hard work, prepare to get sweaty.

Great for beginners :)
As someone who has never been to the gym I thought I would start a workout DVD , I tried fit in 15 first and was very impressed . At first I copied Jackie doing the easy moves then soon started to copy Davina and Mark once I knew I wasn't going to keel over . It's a very friendly DVD and would be perfect for beginners or people who like me haven't got great hand eye coordination . My children even try to join in with me as it looks fun . I have tried a few other fitness DVDs since but always come back to this one .
