Perfect fit and very easy to install.

We bought an InSinkErator insta-hot water tap for an island kitchen sink when we remodeled our kitchen. The install was a bit tricky, but we love the product and I use it daily to make hot tea for my daily commute to work. I hadn't replaced the filter in awhile, so I searched for the model on Amazon and not only did I find the best price, I also got two filters for roughly the price of one in comparison to my local hardware store. The installation was a breeze, though I recommend putting a medium bucket or bowl under the filter when it is removed and a new one installed. The old filter still contains a good amount of water, so let it drain in the sink before disposing. The instructions recommend running 3 gallons of water through the filter before using. Very pleased with the purchase and have a spare for six months "down the road". I marked the installation date in permanent ink on the front so we know when we need to replace.

Initial comments: Arrived in good condition - 2 per box. Detached the old one and attached the new.Further input: You have to line up arrows that are white. So, if you are under a sink, it's hard to see the arrows. I recommend you take a marker and put a dot or dash on the filter and on the housing. Put an absorbent rag under the housing to catch the water that will spill out - not much, but has the potential to be messy if you aren't prepared. Be sure to run water through your filter for 3 full minutes to flush out stuff as per directions.Result: The water tasted cleaner immediately. I don't know how clean it really is, but it tastes a bit better.One last thought: I like clear ice cubes. I used to use a Pur filter spun on the fawcett directly. It produced clearer ice cube than this filtration system. I suspect the Pur filter filtered out more solids that hold onto oxygen. It's not a comment on the health of the water I am now drinking, but I just like clearer cubes. Hope this helps.

I purchased a set of F-201Rs from Amazon Marketplace, in "Like-New" condition. When they arrived, both filters came in an unsealed bag; one had evidence that it was previously installed as it had some scratches on the groves. Though I had my suspicions that I was sold a spent filter, I installed it anyway and flushed it per the instructions. The immediate result result was crystal clear water which tasted fresh and crisp, similar to the taste of bottled spring water. I'll periodically check for leaks and cracking in the body of the filter, but so far, this is a winner.

I had never done this in 3 years? I get worried I won't know how to do it.The instructions were clear.The water would turn itself off as I twisted it off-it did.That I should have a bucket underneath as some water will spill- it did.I will line up some arrows to twist it back on.-yes to arrows but putting it on needed some muscles I didn't quite have.I needed to lay under the sink like a plumber to have the right access and VOILA it was much easier and I'm done!....for 6 months when I "should" change it again! LOL Good thing for the 2 pack and they come with stickers to put the change by date!We love this HOT/COLD filtered thing at our sink! No mor GIANT space taker of a brand that plugs into the wall! ;-) So worth it!
