Please consider offering a printed edition
Rosalind! PLEASE consider offering this in a printed format as well as the kindle edition. It would be a lot easier and more accessible for the you men in my life if you had this option as well. If it is available and I'm missing how to get it, could you or someone please let me know.I am finding this book to be very helpful- the problem is that I'm only able to read it in snatches of time here and there, and I'd like to be able to flip back and forth and highlight and refer to other pages and perspectives that I've found helpful. Kindle is NOT the best formet to do this. THANKS!

Excellent resource, but lots of expletives
I thought I'd finally struck gold when I found one of the few books written for young men that addresses more than physical changes associated with puberty, heterosexual crushes/dating, and keeping up in school. Wiseman and the "High School Guys" provide young men with healthy guidance of how to be a well-rounded man, not a pushover or a jerk. It presents a balance of "how to get your way" and "how to treat others". It covers friendships, conflict resolution, navigating the hook-up culture, homosexuality, specific dating advice, prevalent mental health issues, and more. It's perfect, EXCEPT THE LANGUAGE! Previous reviews indicated that the "douchebag" in the title was the most offensive, but the book is scattered with expletives. Vignettes from young men do NOT, thankfully, contain crass or slang terminology for women. It seems as though Wiseman and her publisher see profanity as a means with which the author can prove that "she gets it"; as if the examples and guidance weren't enough. As a school counselor, I am responsible for providing resources and guidance to ALL students. The discrepancy between the number of resources for young women and young men is saddening. I'm so thankful to have found this resource, yet I do not feel comfortable sending this home to students or parents as a resource. I hope that Wiseman will consider an a "edited edition" or consider writing an edition targeted for (pre)adolescent guys. Until then, I'll do my best to convey the message of her book without providing them the resource directly.

Good content marred by attempted use of teen slang
I think the information is good, but she disregards her own advice in using "douchebags" and other slang in the text. I'm a mom, and I don't mind my son seeing the language, but I think it would turn him off to have an adult trying to use teen slang, which isn't even necessarily the slang he and his friends use. If he can look past that, I think the content is pretty good.

Wow!
This guide was really excellent! I am not a boy, or a teenager, or even went to public school, but it helped me understand the male mindset, plus some of the "hierarchy" of male types. I would definitely suggest this for teenaged girls and boys alike, simply so they can understand themselves, the inner workings of society and social structures, and each other.

So happy about it
Got this for my son and he read it cover to cover. He is already navigating difficult situations really well as a sophomore in high school and I think it has a lot to do with this book. So happy about it!

Good book mainly for teenagers
Not a bad book. Although not quite a teenage boy anymore, I could relate to this book fairly well. Some concepts are ageless and it also made me remember my younger years. Funny how we keep making the same mistakes 20 years later...

Relevant and useful
Ignore the awful title. If you can get past that, it's an extremely practical and useful guide for how to deal with many situations young men will encounter. Good for parents and high schoolers. The author speaks intelligently but in terms her audience should understand. Very much worth ones time!

Boys' world clarification
The Guide is the eye-opener to the boys' world. It clarifies the rules and 'laws' governing boys' groups and helps young men deal with possible situations that may happen to them...
