Warning!
I never got this thing to work and ended up returning it in disgust and frustration. So why am I giving it 5 stars? Benefit of the doubt, presumption of innocence. After giving up on this unit I went to a local electronics retailer and bought the same kind of HDMI extender but from a different manufacturer. It didn't work either. For both units I tried everything. rebooting, tightening the cables, using different cables, repositioning, playing with the antennas, etc. What worked was to disconnect the HDMI extenders, get out a 25' HDMI cable to directly connect the cable box to the TV. Then get the cable company to send a signal to reset my box. Then I could reconnect the HDMI extender and get through the rest of that evening. Only the next day it wouldn't be working again.Well what did jerking around with the cable company have to do with some fault in the HDMI extender? I finally concluded - nothing. The cable box has some kind of anti-piracy circuit that checks every day to see if any kind of transmitter is connected to their box stealing their signal. If it detects a transmitter it terminates the connection. Well I'm not stealing anything. I'm paying (way too much) for a reliable working connection to their cable service. Whether it's a traditional solid cable or a wireless radio transmitter is none of their business (in my opinion). To solve this issue I used a "smart outlet" that shuts off the power to the HDMI device every night at 11:59pm, then turns it back on every day at 7:30pm. The ant-piracy check happens sometime after midnight, but if nothing is powered on, it doesn't cut the connection. If I want to watch TV sometime during the day, the "smart outlet" lets me turn it on from my easy chair using an app on my cell phone (it also works with Alexa). This certainly isn't an ideal perfect outcome but I'm OK with it.Main point is if you buy an HDMI extender and it doesn't work, please don't just automatically blame the HDMI device. Cable companies are not nice.

Worked for a while
I have my TV wall mounted and wanted to remove all visible cables, I ran the power behind he TV and just needed to get the HDMI signal from my Humax satellite receiver to the TV which is around 8 feet away with a line of sight. I paired the units which was easy and all was well for a few hours then the signal started to drop out about every 10 to 15 minutes; I emailed the manufacturer and asked what I could do to fix the issue. They recommended that I switch off my WIFI router, pair the devices and then switch it back on. I did this and left the TV running for 4 or 5 hours and all seemed well, settled down in the evening and the signal started to drop out again. Returned as could not get it to work. I did try a more expensive unit, which didn't work at all, I suspect this technology is just not robust.
