A great resource for any sales professional
I’ve read several books that aim to ‘make you better at sales’ - a lot of these are usually written around the same outdated frameworks and packed full of anecdotal scenarios that don’t help much. The salesDISK model takes a holistic look at ‘sales’ by addressing things such as sales management, assembling a sales team, identifying markets, developing values and much more.It will develop your thinking in a way that will make you consider aspects of marketing and product management that many sales books won’t cover - even though they are essential for salespeople to understand to a degree. If you’re a sales manager, it will encourage you to think long and hard about the people you hire, how your team are going to market and implement a sales plan that aligns with a companywide vision. All that being said, the entire model and all of the different perspectives will ultimately teach you one thing; how can you become more effective at selling. And that goal is usually what motivates people to read a book like this. Whatever your role, industry, or level of experience; I think the salesDISK will broaden your knowledge and genuinely help improve your sales practice.

Interesting and thought provoking
Really enjoyed the book and it’s style with more of a personal touch to some topics that can come across very theoretical in others.

A Great sales process
This is just a great book.James has a great ability to explain the sales process in a salespersons language. The section I like is the one titled “Develop.” The section that said a lot to me was about demonstrating capability. So many salespeople believe they need to demonstrate the features of a product as opposed to the capability. The solution must meet the needs and the demonstration shows how those needs can be met. There is a lot of value in this book as it follows a process which ultimately is repeatable and scalable. If you are in sales irrespective of seniority this will at worst confirm what you are already doing or alternatively act as a platform for what you should do to make you very successful.Ed Wal

Salespeople and businesses are not all the same.
First time a book provides real tools that can be used to help assess your business. The model outlined can help align an entire organization from sales to operations. The SalesDISK lets you adapt to a situation and does not try to make you follow any one model as so many other books try to do.
