Good for beginners and intermediate alike
This is a good book for beginners looking to practice second, fourth, sixth and seventh positions. It's also nice as an exercise books for more advanced students who want something to practice their higher positions in. There's several different keys you can practice each position in with the fingers for the position you're studying, and it goes over some of the more usual patterns like arpeggios and scales.

Whistler - Introducing the Positions, Volume 2 Violin Published by Rubank
This is a very useful book, especially for students who use the suzuki books, and are spending a lot of time in first position, or anyone who wants to increase their ability to read music outside of first position.
