Nice brush
I got the impression from the description that the bristles were wooden ("ditch the plastic"). Anyway, they aren't and the first bristle to snap, did so by the second day. I love the way the brush feels on my scalp - especially since my hair is not thick and is thinning (medications / illness / hereditary - who knows?). So far, after daily use of about a week - no more snapped bristles. Not yet. Maybe it was a fluke? One good thing, the snapped bristle doesn't scrap my scalp because of it's location on the brush. Because it is wooden, the brush is sturdy. It is comfortable in my hand. All in all, it is a nice brush but I don't know if it is worth the cost.

NOT TEK BRUSHES - READ FINE PRINT
I suppose these are okay but they're not what I thought I was ordering. I had searched specifically for a brand called TEK. When I searched for TEK wooden brushes this set popped and I thought the deal was too good to be true as TEK brushes are really expensive. I tossed them into my cart without paying attention to the fine print. I can tell you that these brushes definitely break off my hair, which is fine, thin, and brittle so I'd be aware of this. I was searching for brushes to try to save my hair, not break it off.

Has a very weak link.
The travel size may be better, I haven't tried it yet, but the main one wasn't glued well enough: the renters part with the teeth came out of the wooden frame and handle. I have thick, kinky hair, so I need a strong brush, and was hopeful that these good, thick wooden teeth wouldn't bend like thin metal or break like thin plastic. Shame that what they're attached to isn't as strong as they are. I'm giving more than one star because I'm still using the detached part without the handle; it works, it's just not convenient, and I prefer to save single starts for things that don't work at all. I might have given another start for getting two brushes for a good price, but maybe I overpaid; I can't remember the price and the product is unavailable now.

Worth the buy
I was skeptical at first buying these brushes, I have very thick and long hair and most days it takes a while to brush all of the knots out of my hair. I was also nervous that because of my thick hair some of bristles might break but they have held up really well. I have relied on a standard plastic paddle brush from the drug store for quite some time and while it does an okay job, it is very rough and sometimes the plastic tips of the bristles fall off and it ends up scratching your scalp. This brush is gentle, light and smooth. It works better than my plastic brush and the bristles seem to be all one piece which is great. I also noticed that I had no static build up compared to my other brush which is always a challenge.

I ordered these brushes as I have fine hair that tends to end up in one large mess. The brushes are nice and sturdy but I've had no luck trying to detangle my hair. Still looking for a resolution.

Find something else
Poor design: rubber backing and large round points are a good team for making small knots in your hair which then combine into larger knots. Went back to my old brush. on top of that the handle feels cheap, the harsh sides of it are tiresome to hold and the weight of the whole brush is awkward. I used to have the perfect brush, I'm not sure what it's called because the logo on it wore away with time (5 years) and the backing no longer stays in place. Sad that a product fairly similar does a whole lot worse. I have thin, long, healthy hair which I've never really had a problem brushing. A 2 to 5 minute task has become upwards of a 10 minute job.

Not good for long thick hair
The rubber cushion makes the bristles too springy to go through long thick hair. Also, it doesn't help much with static. But basically a pretty good brush.
