Jack of Spades: A Dark Mafia Romance (Vegas Underground Book 3)

The story is the second in the Vegas Underground series but can easily read well as a stand-alone story. There will be a mention about people and incidences in King of Diamonds but is told in a way that the reader will not be lost. The story is about sweet, all-American girls who fall in love with mafia men. The story will also include more about Nico and Sondra, some of the battles they must face with his family, the arranged marriage contract, and true love, with a wedding.Corey Simonson hails from Michigan and came to Vegas to attend graduate school, she has been studying psychology but is bored with it. She took a job at Bellimisso as a croupier and has a knack at being able to read players. She will have one man at her table that is off and later that night; she will learn that it is Stefano Tacone, brother to Nico who is engaged to her cousin, Sondra.Stefano is impressed but cautious with Corey, especially after reading her file and knowing her Dad is a fed. He will ask her to work a private game upstairs, away from the casino floor, and it will become a night that changes things for both of them when a player aiming for Nico will pull a gun, and Stefano will kill him. Corey being a witness will now find herself held captive by Stefano and under his demands, which will include punishments. It isn’t all bad, but it goes against everything in Corey to accept being held prisoner and things out of her control.“I might have to admit to myself that I enjoy being his captive. Leaving now would be a disappointment. I’m his captive. If I don’t cooperate, I’m dead.”The plot will have Stefano and Corey getting off on a wrong start, but he tries to make things better, in his way, which is ordered her around. She will find herself being punished and at Stefano’s mercy. He has been raised in the mob, taught to be tough, not to cry, and if that means killing, it’s all part of the family. The way she responds to his dominance is exhilarating and the more he is with her, the more he wants, he is becoming addictive to her. What happens when something questionable comes up?“I will always defend you.”The story is a page-turner with a great cast of characters, plenty of interaction, with dominance and control by Stefano and submission eventually by Corey. She is no doormat, like her mother, she is a fighter, but knows when it is best to submit. The sex between them is an erotic dance of power exchange and includes punishments. What starts out as imprisonment and forced submission and punishments later becomes consensual. They will be tried by fire and tested between right and wrong, good and evil, and even though there will be a loss of faith, in the end, they will find their way back to each other and will have come through stronger than before.“Justice was served, in its own way. It doesn’t matter to me if it happened on the right or wrong side of the law. My father didn’t uphold those laws.”

He’s one dangerous, cocky, arrogant and controlling man. And he definitely has the Tacone temper. I really loved his possessiveness, dominance and dirty talking mouth. Even more, Stefano’s one attentive and thoughtful man and I loved him very much.Corey is a card dealer in the casino and Sondra’s cousin. I loved how smart, confident and sassy she is. Even more, I loved that she knew when to hold her own and when to back down. She’s a woman who definitely knows how to handle herself, read people and pay attention. Corey’s so awesome and I adored her!I really enjoyed everything that happened between Corey and Stefano. When a private high stakes game goes wrong and Corey becomes witnesses of a crime, she’s taken prisoner and locked in Stefano’s bedroom. From the very beginning their chemistry was explosive, naughty and filled with blazing hot passion. But there was also a lot of family drama they had to deal with and it took some time for both to open up and trust each other. Their road to happiness was definitely a bumpy one. Nevertheless, Corey and Stefano were so perfect for each other and I absolutely loved their interactions. Oh, the Tacone men are just so irresistible!Overall, the story is another fantastic addition to the series. It’s filled with suspense, danger, action, scorching hot romance and magnificent characters!I loved it and cannot wait to see what happens next in the Tacone family!

Man this series just keeps getting better and better. Corey sassyness and Stefano's obessession, its one wild ride that you will enjoy.

Renee Rose is an amazing author. She gives her characters such life you can hear them in your head. I loved the dynamics between Stephano & Corey. Going to have to get the rest of the series now!!

I like the men in this Vegas Underground series. Hot, in charge, but willing to support their women and help them realize their full potential. They're super demanding but also likely to melt when it comes to their ladies. Maybe not melt completely but there's a marshmallow core.

So this wasn't bad, but this wasn't great either. This series is really a miss for me and I'm not sure I'm going to read anymore.The only thing Sefano seemed to know how to do was to spank Corey. I mean don't get me wrong the first couple times it was great. After about the second time, it's repetitive. Which is not good in a book. I found myself wanting to skip through all the sex scenes. Yeah, another clue it's not working for me. There needs to be a little variety and this book did not have that.In fact, I had a hard time even getting a plot out of this book. It seemed as though it was sex. Because this series is definitely NOT mafia. I guess it can be it's own brand of mafia, but killing a total of two people that were trying to kill you does not make a mafia book. Calling a woman "your woman" also does not make a mafia book. Is there suspense...maybe?I don't know, clearly this series isn't working for me, so I think I'm going to throw my hands in the air and walk away. I hate leaving any series open, but honestly, I think I'll forget that this series is even open for me.

I liked book 1 better. About 60-70% of this book was sex and I got to the point of just skimming these love scenes. The remaining 30% storyline was good.The h is a casino dealer at the H's brothers casino in Las Vegas. The H moves back to help his brother with security. The MC's meet when he tries testing her integrity as a dealer. When she passes the test he then promotes her to dealing at high-end private poker games. This is when the drama and the story starts taking off.This book is good enough to read once.

Man, I love these books so much! I lose sleep over Rene Rose’s book series. These are a must-read! The Vegas underground men are so hot!!!

We first met Corey in the first book in this series she’s Sondra's cousin , Corey is a feisty red head who is good at her job as a croupier although she does have a longing to do something else which we do find out about later on in the story . With Nico gone to Chicago to get things sorted out with the family , he left his brother Stefano has come to Las Vegas to help him out at the Bellissimo . When he first meets Corey sparks fly in every way between the two, there’s an instant attraction between them . Intrigued by the feisty red head Stefano is surprised to learn that Corey has the ability to read the punters well , so much so he tells her that he now wants her skills as a croupier for private games for the special high rollers . Her first game goes disastrously wrong when unbeknown to anyone one of the players seem to have a grievance against the Tacone family and sneaks a gun into the game he then proceeds to pull the gun on Stefano . I think you can guess what happens next after all this is a very powerful Mafia family who know how to deal with troublemakers , but now there’s an added problem the whole thing is done in the presence of Corey question is can Corey be trusted to keep quiet ? With lots of Mafia type shenanigans ,really hot sex between Stefano & Corey ,and Corey’s estranged father who is a Special agent with the FBI turns up to cause problems for his daughter and as it happens he turns out to be a very nasty piece of work who’s also a dirty cop all in all this is a very fast moving story that also ties up the loose ends in first story as well.

In this book, set around the Tacone family we meet Stefano and Corey. Stefano is managing the Bellissimo Casino while his brother Nico is away when Corey, who is a dealer, comes to is attention. Because she is attractive and can draw the punters he tells her that he wants her to be dealer at a special game played in one of the hotel's suites. While she is there she witnesses a murder and Stefano is then faced with the problem of whether he can trust her.This was a good story in how it developed the relationship between Stefano and Corey. The sex scenes in it didn't do much for me as I am not into spankings and mild bondage but these seem to typify this series of books.

I did enjoy this book, but lots of bits were very similar to the first one, so after a bit it felt a bit repetitive. I enjoyed the last few chapters as that good interesting but overall it was okay.Stefano is Nico’s brother who comes to help run the business so Nico can have some time off from working. Corey works at the casino as a crupier and Stefano gets her to work a private card game. Things go south and Corey witnesses a murder, to make sure she doesn’t talk Stefano sort of kidnaps her. Until he can work out if he can trust her. Stefano claims her but things get complicated when he starts to question her trustworthiness.

Stefano and Corey story is just brilliant loved reading about them.They have a few bumps along the way but will true love avail.Characters great Corey's dad omg what scum he is.Looking forward to reading the next book in this serious.

This book is about Corey, Sondra's cousin who we met in the first book and Nick's youngest brother, Stefano. It has everything with these two, passion, fire extremely hot and sexy. I found the story to be very gripping and tied up some loss ends from the first book. I definitely enjoyed it and I'm into the next book.
