Whirlwind pcDI Direct Box for Interfacing Outputs CD Players

In addition to sending audio from computer to sound board, could this be used to also record an audio send from the sound board?

I have another question here - is this di box an active unit? i didn't notice where it indicated such.

can I connect my cell phone with this interface thru my active sound cabinet ?

Rca output from cd player are plug into the pcdi box, can i plug the xlr output into a mixer or do i have to convert it to trs for input to the mixer
