Not the greatest, but no other easy choices out there
Cool concept, but they have some bugs to work out. We had to replace the first LED light kit that came with the tank because the LED light in the tank died after a few months of normal use. It didn't get wet. Secondly, The timer function doesn't hold a 24 hour cycle. In other words, if you set the timer to come on at 8am, the next day it will come on at 8:30am and keep adding 30 minutes every day. I read this has something to do with the 15min dim up/dim down function. Whatever. Bad design. I ended up bypassing the timer and just use a wall outlet timer on it. The glass color comes on as pink by default, but at least the fish and plant are getting a light that come on and off at the same time now.

... they were on Kickstarter and both LED systems worked fine for several months
I ordered two of the Vita tanks when they were on Kickstarter and both LED systems worked fine for several months, however, the inside light quit working on one and then shortly thereafter the other quit working as well. While I didn't want to spend $60 for two replacements, I also didn't want to leave my betas in almost total darkness either. So far these have worked well and have had no issues.

Don't use your tank without this!
I love my vita and this light definitely adds so much character to the tank! I don't know why I ordered my tank without this in the first place but it is definitely a necessity!

12 Hour Timer does not work.
The 12 hour timer does not work and numerous other people have confirmed this on the Vita Google+ community. https://plus.google.com/+LaurelLaird/posts/6DqMu9zySDV For this reason, I am giving this product a 1 star because it's the most important part of the light. It's been reported and the manufacturer has not responded, likely because they know none of them work. Also the weight of the light makes the front dip lower into the tank so you cannot fill it up as far. I am using the Tetra 26447 Submersible Aquarium Heater, 50-Watt in the tank to heat it because it has a fail save shut off.
