Fujifilm Fujinon Wide Conversion Lens for X100 Series Camera, Black (WCL-X100 B II)

A great conversion lens. Very easy to screw to the camera and my fuji x100f identifies the connection and changes the frame lines automatically. The image quality is exactly the same as without it. I only wished fuji could have made this a 24mm since 28mm is very close to the original 35mm. Still, a good investment if 35mm isn't wide enough for your photography.

As I own 2 X100F (Black and Silver), I bought the WCL II to use exclusively with my black one and all I can say is: This lens is a MUST for landscape photographers ! Build quality is EXCELLENT, image quality, just echoing most people, is SUPERB. IMO it doesn't change anything from the native 23mm image quality. Let's put it this way: it simply transformed my Black X100F into a permanent "native" 19mm X100F. If I consider the only (almost irrelevant at least for me) downside, is the lens weight. It's a bit heavier than I thought even knowing by the specs that it's "only" 150g. It makes the camera unbalanced as expected. In my case, add to it, the heavy 49mm B+W UV filter and the Fuji Lens Hood. My black X100F is probably weighing 650g. But I really don't care. It's only an observation that some people may consider an issue. Another thing to remember and consider: using the built in flash will produce shadow with the WCL attached.

I really wanted to love this conversion lens but alas, it wasn't for me. The build quality is great and I didn't notice any difference in image quality with the lens attached. I'd expect nothing less from Fuji. But in my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros. First of all, the weight is substantial. It really throws off the whole balance of my X100F. The biggest factor for me in deciding to return this lens was the fact that the flash was rendered unusable when it was attached - I couldn't get a shot without some sort of shadowy effect. The lens is too long for the flash to reach past it. Very unfortunate. As I said, I really wanted to love this lens. I'm still in need of a wider angle but I'm going to purchase the 18mm for my X-T1 instead.
