This seat is perfect. I bought it to replace the Kohler seat that came with our new chair height toilet (that seat was soooooo uncomfortable), and since we had used this brand before, I gave this one a shot. It was super easy to install. More to come on that. One thing to note is that it does not appear to be the mounting system that makes the seat easily removable for cleaning, but to be honest, I never actually used that feature on our old seat because it was easy to clean anyway.On to the installation. It was really easy. Don’t be afraid to manhandle the hinges to get them to lie flat against the porcelain of the toilet. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. You will put the metal bolt in and then a small white plastic nut…then you will INSTALL FROM THE TOP. The hinges were tight and I had to really work them to get them to lie flat, and then the mounting holes on the toilet itself were a tight fit when I pushed the round plastic piece into them, but it was easy enough! I am sure some people think something is wrong because it doesn’t come out of the package ready to lie flush against the toilet and because you have to push the plastic top piece pretty hard into the mounting holes, but IT WASN’T HARD. Once I had it lying flat and lined up the way I wanted to, I finger tightened the bottom nut, then used a socket wrench to tighten it all the way. You don’t need a socket wrench, but it’s easier. When it was tight enough, the little plastic indicator piece on the bottom nut popped off and that was it. THIS THING WILL NOT BUDGE.It looks great. It is a thick seat and the slow-close feature works wonderfully. Best of all, it is COMFORTABLE. The chrome hinges are bigger than I thought they would be, but they look BETTER than what I had gathered from the stock photo. The seat looks expensive and well made. Much nicer than the Kohler lid that came with our toilet.Some tips/info:1) When tightening the bolt down after the first finger tightening, get someone to hold the seat in place while you do it so it doesn’t shift.2) Read the directions and FOLLOW THEM.3) Read the directions.4) Did I mention that you should read and follow the directions? I get irritated when people complain about difficult installation but you can clearly tell they didn’t read. This was easy.5) To that end, I am a 47-year-old women and I like doing these small things around the house. The only thing I asked of my husband on this one was to hold the seat in place while I cranked down the nut because he was the closest available person. If my dog had opposable thumbs, he could have helped me install this seat, it was that easy! :)

I’m so done with cheap plastic toilet seats that move around and get loose. This one has metal hinges. The hardware is top notch. Once installed the seat will not wiggle around. The soft close lid is very nice. It did squeak at first. I just sprayed it with WD-40. Now work great. Silent lid. Good quality. Costs less than big box stores. Fast shipping. Easy install. Very comfortable too.

This is an excellent attractive product. Very easy to install. I have used it for only a week or so but. for me, the seat is too long so I will give to a friend and order the regular size. No complaints.Thedecision was mine. Well made with attractive hinges.

Very easy to put on, took about 15 minutes to take the old one off and put the new one on. This seat is made very well and you can feel how sturdy it is when you sit down, no moving around on you. The kids letting the lid slam is the reason the seats kept breaking, not this one y’all, it has SOFT CLOSE and it works beautifully.

Bought the one with the rounded one with chrome hinges and really like the look. Feels substantial but not overly heavy. Was pretty easy and straightforward to mount on toilet, with the only issue being the hinges were really, really stiff initially. It's been a few days and they have eased a bit which is a positive. The slow close feature is great. At first it lowered extremely slowly, but I believe that was just because the hinges were so stiff. Would definitely buy another when I need to replace the one in the other bathroom.

We had bought a new toilet. The toilet is ornate with a beautiful design and a plastic seat. It made our expensive purchase look and feel cheap. This is the seat our new toilet should have come with!

...this one would definitely qualify. The hinges are both stylish and sturdy. Quiet and slow, too. I would never presume to argue with "improved personal performance" from this seat, but I would disagree with the characterization of it being cozy or soft. It's wood, very sturdy, more comfy than the plastic seat it's replacing, but soft it is not. I bought it because I got tired of feeling like I was going to end up with my foot in the bowl every time I wanted to put on lotion after a shower!Hubs installed, I did not, so I can't speak about that process personally, but I can tell you it took under 15 minutes to complete two of them, and not once did I hear a curse, sigh, grunt, or anything being slammed around, so I have to assume it was very easy!My/our only complaint is the color. It isn't white, it's off-white. The top and bottom parts of the seat don't look quite the same, either. Round is more white than Elongated, which was ordered by mistake and returned and how I know, but neither match our Kohler white toilets. We hate our toilets actually, maybe we'll get some that match the seats instead of the other way around! If not for that, these thrones would get a perfect score. :)Edited to add an unforeseen though (usually!) funny consequence to owning these toilet seats. If you have them in all bathrooms in your home and you get accustomed to them, you will tend to forget not everyone else has them in their homes too. We might need some kind of awareness campaign, because you can rest assured you will — repeatedly, loudly, and hopefully with much forgiveness — slam closed all your friends' and family's toilet seats!

Despite negative reviews concerning slow closing times, I ordered two. After extensive use, we're very pleased. Closing time is just fine. We're both just a bit under 200 pounds, these seats have never shifted at all. I'm sure you'd be happy with these too.
