the fabric is soft and breathable.
I love this nursing pillow! It is so comfortable and supportive for both me and my baby. It wraps around my waist and stays in place with the adjustable straps. It has a handy side pocket where I can keep my phone, water bottle, or nursing pads. The cover is removable and washable, and the fabric is soft and breathable. The pillow is firm and flat, which helps my baby stay awake and latch well. It also helps me maintain a good posture and avoid back and neck pain. I have tried other nursing pillows, but this one is by far the best. It is a must-have for any breastfeeding mom. I highly recommend it!

Game Changer - Update 3 Years Later
3 Year and Second Baby Update!!:We just had our second born 6 weeks ago and I came back to update this review because I feel that strongly about this pillow. Everything I wrote before still holds true. We are using the exact same pillow that we purchased for our first. It is a little softer but still so much more firm than any other pillow we’ve ever used, the back piece hasn’t kept its perfect shape, but that’s to be expected considering I used it so many times daily for an entire year of feeding my first. Once again I feel like it has saved my breastfeeding journey. If someone asked me, this pillow would hands down be the number one item I recommended someone place on their baby registry. Our son was born with a seriously horrible latch. I was gifted several Boppy pillows at our baby shower. Upon coming home from the hospital I was excited to try them out and see if they aided in positioning and thus his latch. A week of trying to manage those flimsy pillows and both baby and I were FRUSTRATED. I would use two at once, use one with additional pillows on either side, use one with a towel rolled under his head, etc. Baby was uncomfortable from sliding around and constantly being repositioned while trying eat and my nipples were taking a beating from a bad latch made worse by inadequate positioning. A lactation consultant suggested trying the Breast Friend pillow and it immediately changed our breast feeding journey. It didn’t completely solve the latch issues that we were having, but it made both of us comfortable enough that we could easily work through them. The best parts of this pillow include:1. It attaches to you so you can get situated and prepped and then pick up your little one and place them on you. In comparison, the Boppy does not stay in place whatsoever. Often it would slip off of me or slide while I was seated and nursing- causing baby to slide down and tug at the nipples.2. It is also a stiffer foam which helps keep baby right where you put them and decreases fatigue on mom’s arms.3. The pocket is a nice added feature as you can keep nipple shields, cream, pads, etc in there for safe keeping.4. The lumbar support really does help keep my lower back comfortable when feeding.Food for thought:1. Our birth was a cesarean and when I first tried this pillow I was 1 week post partum. As to be expected, it was mildly uncomfortable pressing on my abdomen. I suppose you could not tighten the strap as much, but the pillow would not stay on as well. I found that it was mild enough and helpful enough to keep using it.2. I wish that the fabric was coated with a waterproof liner on the inside. Baby has had two blowouts while eating that have discolored the foam pillow.3. It is difficult to get the cover on after washing as some others have commented. Just take your time and be patient. The foam around the back lumbar area acts like it could easily tear if manipulated too harshly.4. The first couple of weeks we exclusively used the football hold. I slid the pillow to be slightly off center to help with this position. Once baby figured out his latch a little better, we switched to cross hold and this pillow became even more comfortable for us.Once Baby gets bigger and has better control of his head and body the Boppy may work better for some. But for right now, we are 5 weeks PP and this pillow continues to be the most used baby item we purchased. While it was pricey for a pillow, I would gladly purchase again for the difference it made in breast feeding.

The BEST nursing pillow! Helps take some of the struggle out of breastfeeding ...
This nursing pillow has been a lifesaver! I'm curvier (5'9", currently a size 18 at 3 weeks post-delivery, carry most of my weight in my midsection), and the Boppy I received as a shower gift didn't fit around me comfortably. Regular bed pillows were too squishy and a big hassle. My daughter was having latch issues due to positioning, and I was in so much pain that I was ready to give up on breastfeeding. A friend let me try her My Brest Friend pillow, and the difference it made was remarkable!Pros:- because it fastens around you, it prevents you from having to constantly adjust it, and it keeps both hands free to position the baby correctly. Plus it gives you support in the back.- firm and flat so my daughter stays in place while nursing.- I can fasten it high enough so that it wasn't resting on my incision while I was healing after my c-section.- has a pocket for keeping snacks, a burp cloth and my daughter's pacifier.Cons:- the cover isn't the best. It's very thin, rough cotton, and while the softness has improved with washing, it has faded a lot and I'm worried it won't hold up that long. I've only had it for 2 weeks, but the cover looks years old (I have to wash it several times a week because my daughter spits up a lot).- the buckle. My friend's pillow has the "deluxe" cover, which is a solid color fleece that has a velcro closure instead of the buckle. The velcro definitely has more room/length for adjustment, so you might want to consider it if you're plus sized. The buckle is also advertised on the packaging as being "silent" when you release it so that it doesn't wake up a baby who's fallen asleep nursing. It's not. Thankfully my daughter doesn't wake easily. The velcro would be probably be louder though.- not waterproof, but this is easily fixed. Other reviewers suggested taking the cover off and then putting the plastic packaging that the pillow comes in over the foam insert, zipping it, and then zipping the cover over top of the plastic. This keeps spit up and milk from seeping into the foam, and it makes putting the cover back on after washing it SO MUCH EASIER because it just slides over the plastic. The plastic does make the pillow noisy, but if you have a spitty baby like I do, you have to protect the foam or you're going to end up with a smelly mess.I can't say enough about how much I love this thing and how much it's helped me with breastfeeding. I will be recommending it to all of my friends and probably be giving it as a shower gift in the future.

Better than the Boppi nursing pillow!
If you know nursing, especially in the beginning, perfect positioning is everything. I had a lot of trouble with the boppi pillow sliding off my stomach. I went for a LC consult and she had this one and I instantly knew I had to buy it. Great pillow! Super supportive, love the pocket for my phone and baby nail clippers, and it won't slide off your stomach!

Love it! Makes breastfeeding easier and more comfortable.
I've used a My Brest Friend for all 4 kids. It is the most supportive and helpful breastfeeding pillow. My breastfeeding posture would be horrible if it weren't for this pillow helping bring the baby up and in rather than me leaning in. Definitely a "must have" piece of baby equipment.

Should’ve purchased from day one
I hesitated to purchase this breastfeeding pillow due to the price…6 weeks into having my son I wish I’d bought it sooner! My newborn is very wiggly and also quite long for his age so it made breastfeeding and finding the right position a constant battle - usually ending up with him in tears and me too. I tried the boppy and using standard pillows around the house, but nothing worked. This pillow allows him to feed comfortably and also lets me multitask (even eating!) while we are sat on the sofa. If you are debating buying it, it’s worth the investment.
