Disney Sofia the First: Becoming a Princess: Storybook and Amulet Necklace (1) (Storybook with Jewelry) Hardcover – July 30, 2013

Book is simply written and not very long, but it has a sturdy cover and lovely artwork, it retails at $11.99, so I am satisfied with quality for price. The amulet is a nice touch for the princess who is receiving it!

My daughter wore the necklace for halloween and it didn't break or fall off. She is 5 so she may be more mature enough to use it without pulling on it or tearing it up like other people claimed. Keep in mind when a child breaks something, it's not always the products fault. It's meant to be worn around the neck, not played with. As for the book, it isn't anything special, but my daughter enjoys it so that's all that matters. You can find this book at Walmart for a couple bucks more, so if you want to save the money but want to check it out, check it out in person at walmart then order it from here for the savings.

Sadly, the main reason for getting this book was the amulet! On first glance it looked like there was something there but when I opened it there was no amulet. Hoping to get my money back.

Ordered this, story not bad but the "amulet"....pitiful. I can say that Sophia's "amulet" lasted approximately .... 5 minutes. Just guessing but the amulet probably cost them about 10 cents. The front of the book, was quite thick, and was made that way to accomodate the special "amulet." That part of the book probably had more cardboard which probably cost more than than amulet. Amulet was a plastic little disk, cheaply done and the necklace part was ribbon tied onto these plastic hooks which attached to the amulet. My granddaughter had it in parts before I could through away the plastic I took off of the book. Disney quality control people really messed up on this one. Again...Pitiful. By the way, the 3 star rating was for the book...passable story.

The necklace is cute but flimsy. Great book for my 3 year old. The only complaint is that the book says nothing about Baileywick.

The book is really colorful and great story. My granddaughter was absolutely thrilled. The necklace is so cute and made to snap apart for ease and less breakage. I would highly recommend this combination. Great price too!

I bought this book/necklace set for my 3 year old who adores Sophia The First. She was so happy when it arrived in the mail today, until opened the book and took out the "amulet". The "amulet" is the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen. It has really cheap and easy to break closing clasps and it made of the lowest quality plastic. I did not expect it to be Disney Store quality or anything, but at least make it likable for the kid who wears it. (Or in this case, doesn't wear it.) My daughter is not picky, nor is she high maintenance or choosy with her toys, but even she shunned this would be piece of plastic. I plan to send this back to Amazon and get something of better quality. I do not mind spending more to get more.
