The card runs quiet with both automatic and manual fan speed control and keeps a decent temperature of around 70c [18c ambient room temperature](In a vented case with proper intake + exhaust air flow) when in use (gaming). Increasing the fan speed does make it noisy. It overclocks around stable speeds of 800MHz core clock and 1600MHz shader clock before becoming unstable on a 500 watt power supply.The card can handle most modern video games with high graphical settings at around a average of 40-60 frames per second vsync enabled, but it does struggle in very graphically demanding games or graphical situations at a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. I would suggest this model of GPU primarily to MMORPG gamer's since that area of gaming is more processor intensive then graphical.The card is one of the only with a detachable fan that could give some points towards rarity and collectability as well as belonging to the 768MB line of cards that are no longer being manufactured.

Bought this video card last month and have been using it with a AMD Athlon II X4 630 (Propus) CPU, 8GB OCZ 1333mhz ddr3 ram and 450W/25A rated PSU and it works beautifully. With just 2 extra 120mm and 1 200mm case fan I've been able to overclock this almost 35% with temps still staying below 58ºC under full load. No crashes, no bottlenecking, high fps. Great product. Great seller.

Was using an i3 with onboard hd3000. It worked well for what I needed it to. Then started playing games. I could deal with the 20-30 fps that it provided, or so I thought.I'll keep it short. For about 100 bucks, this isnt too bad of a video card. Reviews are solid, although they did stop making the 768mb and only make the 1gb cards now, this card is great.The difference between 20fps lowest settings on 1080p in skyrim on a 50" led (hd3000) vs High, 40+fps with all the bells and whistles..there's a BIG difference.Yes, there are cards that are better than this one.Yes--they cost more.Very happy with this card.

[...]I am running this card at stock setting off a 400W 25A single 12V rating power supply and it works beautifully without any stability issues. If you have questions about gaming performance you should be reading the various detailed reviews online.Some interesting things about this card:1. It has a 4+1 power phases2. Screw-secured heatsink on the power phase VRMs which is very uncommon at this price point3. It vents air through openings on both ends of the card4. The fan is a 4 pin with pwm, and seems to be a 70mm5. Idles at a temperature of 38C for me with the fan at 20% ~750rpm which is completely inaudible6. The fan gets pretty loud beyond 60%, which usually only happens when benchmarking... you better be wearing headphones when that happens7. The 2 6pin PCI-Express power connectors are on the top instead of the back8. Instead of including a plugin converter a mini-hdmi to hdmi cable is included9. Make sure there is ample space between the fan and the card next to it, there are reports of the fan hitting the cards next to it but I think this is mostly user error

It is faster, better built and much quieter than I've expected. Almost the same speed as the GTX470 I have in the other rig which was much more expensive. Best bang for buck and has low power usage. Happy with the purchase.

PRO; It's a GTX 460 -- CON; very below standards of acceptable customer service . BUY EVGA !!!!!! THIS IS AN UPDATE; Galaxy nearly completed RMA in 30days .. Card is in the mail to Galaxy .. In my case,it was a broken fan blade .. GPU is fine .. Final Update ; 03/09/11; Today Galaxy replaced GPU to my door .

I bought this Galaxy Gtx 460 768,not expecting much and I am shocked at how good it performs.I'm running crysis 2 45 to 60 fps at maximum settings and dead island 60 fps maxxed(both 1920x1080p).I love this card!!

Excellent product and cheap; I have this card for two years, no problems with good cooling, heat disspation is very important for thios card, temperature is up to 95°C in latest games, but no problem, card is power and design is perfect, actually I am playing in 3D without SLI at 60FPS with anisotropic filter of 4X. Luck and dont doubt.
