Funny the way I found you was that I wrote in adult coloring books and then watercolor coloring pencils. I knew of Prisma Color I used them for my renderings as a designer but in all honesty I have always found them to be over priced and since this was meant for me to have fun and disconnect from my very hectic life I didn't want to spend as much I'm glad I chose them because believe it or not I almost like the smoothness of them better than the Prisma Color ones and the fact that they blend so nicely as well. Well if you guys come up with more colors please keep me on your mailing list as I would now love to grow my collection and coloring possibilities.

I just got my pencils about 10 days ago and I use them to do some adult coloring books. I am by no means an artist so I haven't tried my hand at blending/shading/watercolors, but the variety of colors is fantastic and they are very close when used to the barrel color which is really nice as it makes it super easy for me to decide which pencil to grab. I did have a small issue with one of the light blue pencils - every time I sharpened it, the tip fell off. I think the core is damaged but it might be something I'm doing in the sharpening process. I had just figured "oh well". Then one day I received an email from Steve asking if I had received the pencils, how I was liking them, if I was having any problems with them. He also included a file in the email on how to care for the pencils to get the most out of them. I figured what the heck, and emailed him about the single light blue pencil I was having an issue with. He emailed back and mentioned a few of the possibilities with what might be wrong and said that he wanted to send me out a WHOLE NEW SET just to make sure that I was absolutely happy!In today's day and age of generally terrible customer service, Steve and Flat Water Products is a class act! He didn't have to send me an entire new set, he could have tried to figure out which light blue was the problem (they all have the same numbers and no names - yet -he's working on that!), but felt it better to just send a whole new set. This is crazy awesome! I will definitely buy other products from them in the future because I will ALWAYS support fantastic customer service!

I'm often suspicious of Chinese products because the quality is usually so poor, these are a very good quality. My boyfriend and I both really liked the roll up carrying case for when we want to take them with us someplace and since I color for relaxing we decided to try them. We both are very pleased with the quality of the pencils and he's considering using them if he gets back to drawing (he's a more serious artist than I am). The colors being written in Chinese are somewhat of an issue but I just use a blank test page to pick the one I want. I use the pencils like paint by dipping the brush in water and coating them with color from the pencil then painting them on. They work very well like this and are easy to layer or bleed if you choose. If you let them dry (all of the brands including the pens) you can paint close carefully without them bleeding. If you use them dry then paint close, you have to be more careful (again all brands - it is an interesting effect to play with though). I have several brands including my boyfriend's Rexel Derwent Studio colored and Prismalo watercolor which the colors in these compare well to. I'm not convinced if I didn't tell which are which the average person could tell the difference. They will blend over top of non-water color pencils to create a new color and hold up well next to the gel and gel glitter pens I'm also fond of. I use them with Johanna Basford coloring books as well as a few others.

I am very happy with my new pencils ! They arrived in excellent condition. They color beautifully, sharpen nicely and have a great color variety. I recently purchased a few adult coloring books from Amazon and these are a perfect compliment for them. I definitely will purchase them again when new pencils are needed.i also have recommended them to friends. The only suggestion I had would be to "name" the colors so they could be coordinated with other brands.

The pencils are awesome and you gotta love that they are from a family owned business! They arrived on-time and with a product warranty card! I saw some reviews about others having problems sharpening the pencils so I noted that the first time I had to sharpen mine... I had no problems. You CANNOT sharpen these pencils the same as you would a Crayola pencil! My daughter is at the School of the Arts so I have spent LOTS of money over the years on colored pencils and these are of the same quality as those pencils. I love my pencils! I am enjoying this as my first set. Only had one pencil whereby the lead was chipped out of the box. It will take some time before that color is used enough to get a single solid point instead of a chipped version of it. Just means I need to be careful with that color until I work my way thru. I just don't want to fully break the tip to sharpen it, as I don't want to waste the lead. Other than that, I have been happy with this set as a starter set. I am just getting into coloring (I haven't done so since I was a teenager - quite some years back). It is relaxing and enjoyable. I am looking forward to trying more things, more mediums and various sets of pencils/crayons/gel-pens, to determine which medium works best for me. i am guessing it will be a combination. I have a feeling this set of pencils will be around for awhile. I would buy them again.
