As you can see by the picture our bedroom door was striking the lamb way low. Even without chiseling away the excess wood the latch engages deep enough to keep the door secure.

Finally a solution for my doors that no longer latch completely
My house is now several years old and has settled a bit (as they do). A couple of the door latches no longer perfectly lined up with the striker plates. This is an easy fix for that. I tried adjusting the hinges, etc first, but when that didn't work, I tried these. Easy install (even I could do it!) using only a Philips head screw driver. Voila! Door fixed! My cat can no longer slam into the door to open it while I"m in the shower! LOL. I would buy again.One note: Packaging was not great. It arrived with the package open and the parts were loose in the shipping bag.

Pa longer screw in the top hinge has always fixed sagging door issues I've had but I bought a house that the door wasn't installed correctly and is almost a 1/2" off. My options were pretty much pull it out and try to correct or replace the door. Neither I wanted to do. I bought this as a last resort and it worked.the latch slot is elongated enough that the door will now close and lock. It didn't fix the sag, so it's not pretty. But it saved me a lot of time and money so I can live with it.This comes with 1 interior/1 exterior latch. I got the pack with 2 interior latches, so you might want to pay attention to that.

It works
I purchased and older home in 2020. There were several doors that had door knobs that would not catch, and the front door where the doorframe where the strikeplate was had rotted some. These worked just the way the were supposed to. They were easy to install, and now all the doors catch properly and stay closed.

great product, but expensive
this is my number one fix for door latches that don't match up, although the price is quite high.

Flexible solution to a common problem.
So, to be honest, for looks, I'm not a big fan of the white plastic piece. However, the white plastic piece allows you to make a repair without enlarging the hole in the doorframe where the latch goes. But using the plastic piece, I was able to make a very quick repair when I had children visiting and I needed to be able to lock a door to keep them out! When I get around to it, I'll remove the white plastic piece, and install the brass part into the door frame. But that will take some extra work.
