Love it!
I wanted something that was easier/faster to use than my Arkansas stones but still get my knives very sharp. This fits the bill! It doesn't quite get the edge that the stones do but it's a lot faster when I'm in a hurry. Also, unlike the stones it's pretty impossible to mess up if you follow the directions. It does take a little to get used to it but within a few minutes you start to get the hang of it. One of my fillet knives was in really bad shape and i could never get the edge back like it was brand new. I used this on it and in a few minutes it was back to being razor sharp. I did buy the medium cut (600 grit) sharpeners for it and they work awesome. I'll be buying the fine (1000 grit) for the fillet knives as well. This is by far the best sharpener I've ever used and I've sharpened my share of knives. I know what my dad is getting for Christmas now! I HIGHLY recommend this. Also fyi it's not 100% metal. It's probably 50/50. Overall it seems very sturdy though. I read some reviews that people were angry about that but i think that would be pretty overkill. I don't know of any situation that i would have it in that would require it to be that heavy duty.

What the pro’s use!
This is the best knife sharpener I have used. I first saw one of these when I was in taxidermy school. 80% of a taxidermist’s work requires a sharp knife, or rather a wide selection of sharp knives. My instructor had one of these, and I was amazed at how fast it would put a razor sharp edge on a dulled blade. And I mean just about any blade, from heavy rough use knives to tiny surgical type blades. He used only the medium hones and never bothered using steel on the back side of all the hones. I have been looking for one ever since but couldn’t remember what it was called. Well last week I just typed “knife sharpener” into the Amazon search bar, started scrolling, and finally there it was. I was pretty happy to find it and ordered it right away. This sharpener came with course hones, but I ordered medium and fine hones as well. I have only used the coarse hones so far just to give it a quick try. It worked as good as I remembered. I can’t wait to see what kind of an edge I can put on my old Case and all my other knives when I use the fine hones and finish it off with steel. This comes assembled, there’s no setup involved. It comes with simple, easy to understand instructions for how to adjust it for different bevels and change the hones. It is high quality metal construction, built to last and made in the USA (it still matters to some of us). In taxidermy school there’s no telling how many times it was knocked off the table or how many knives were wore out from constant use and his sharpener is still going strong, so I know it is very durable. I am comfortable saying that I expect this to be the last sharpener I buy. About the only negative thing I could think of to say about this great sharpener is that you ain’t gonna carry it around in your pocket, it’s a little to big and heavy to be considered mobile. No big deal to me, I sharpen my blades at home anyways. I can’t recommend this enough and I’m happy I finally found one.

Buy it. But only if you want sharp knives.
Great sharpener. I have sets of water stones cost far more than this. We have a full set of decent knifes in the kitchen and living in Africa, almost everything we cook is from scratch. With a family of 7 we use the knifes all of the time. Keeping them sharp is a chore. Can I sharpen them on the water stones by hand? Yes. But now my kids can carry this task on. You will need at least the medium grit as well. The coarse produces a sharp edge, but the medium grit will smooth it out a bunch and if you keep up on them - you will use the medium more often. The coarse is needed to establish the angle. I plan to get the fine as well. I have owned MANY sharpening systems. This is the best so far. Buy it.

This thing is awesome and makes sharpening your knives so simple
This thing is awesome and makes sharpening your knives so simple. It is a true sharpener and does take metal off of your knives, so for our nice kitchen knives and my nicer hunting knives I only use it occasionally, and use a honer to keep them sharp on a more regular basis. However this thing works miracles on my pocket knife and my cheaper hunting and filet knives. It makes them razor sharp in minutes, requiring absolutely no skill on my part.

Excellent sharpener and easy to use
First things, first...I am terrible at sharpening knives. I've ruined a number of excellent edges because of how terrible I am. I've your the belt type and stones and countless other methods to sharpener and this is by far the easiest and most idiot (me being the idiot) proof way to sharpen all kinds of knives. I highly recommend this for any and all your knives. This thing will get them razor sharp

An effective and easy to use blade sharpener.
I have honed my skill at sharpening knives for years, and usually hate gadgets which invariably don't do as good a job as I do. This one does. It comes only with a coarse stone, so you need to get at least the medium. I also got the fine stone.. these are overpriced I thing, but it is still cheaper than the edgepro and works much faster. The center post guides the knife through the stones at the proper angle, which is easy to change.

BEST SHARPENER I HAVE EVER SEEN.
Best Knife Sharpener I have seen. Works as advertised and keeps all of my knives super sharp. A lot of the electric sharpeners work fine in an experts hand but get the metal too hot if your aren't an expert. This one keeps those $100+ kitchen knives sharp without damaging or changing the temper of the blade.

Easy To Use and It WORKS!
I Have been making knives for 8 years and have always wanted a sharpener that was quick and easy! I have made over 400 knives to date and have tried numerous sharpeners that are on market. I have also used sharpening stones. The fact is that none have given me the edge that I need on my custom knives. That is until I bought the V Sharp and the Extreme Sharp from Warthog Sharpeners. Both are great and both have given me razor shape edges in record time with little or no effort. Great product at great price! Frank (FMBknives)
