AWMA Metal Dragon Chinese Fighting Fan

I think Amazon has combined the reviews of this product with a few lower-quality-similar-product reviews. The fan I am reviewing is metal-ribbed and red with a green dragon facing left:  Metal Dragon Chinese Fighting Fan Red Ultimately, I like the heavier feel of this fan - the weight makes it an enjoyable challenge to use compared to the bamboo fans I have since become accustomed to. I am already seeing some fraying on the outer edges of the fabric, but I was expecting that as these fans tend to wear out faster than the others due to their metal ribs. Maybe some thread glue will help extend the life of the fabric? I also find this fan has a more satisfying opening noise than the bamboo ones. It generally opens and closes fairly smoothly, too.I have never had any problems with sharp edges that other reviews mention in similar products, and likewise, no cuts from it either. The only thing I can fault this product for it the nylon bag/dust-case it came in seems to have frayed where the cord pulls the opening shut. I have reached the point where I think I need to repair the nylon bag or get another. The important thing is the fan is still in good condition.

Very solid and good quality. The only complaint is I wish it had a stop so you couldn't try to open it the wrong direction. Too many people looking at it try to open it backwards and I can see it putting wear on the adhesive attaching the cloth to the fan blades. Other than that it is very good.

This is a revamped review. The fan itself is a pretty quality, better than many others I've handled. I've practiced with the black one for a while and it's still holding up. When this one wears out i'll buy another one.

Pictures do not do the fan justice. The design is beautiful, and the seller is awesome with communication. The fan itself is just the right size and weight. I love this fan, and would def recommend it. A+

This is a cheap bamboo fan, with two outer metal pieces. The "fabric" between is cheap, rubberized with a printed graphic. This is not worth even $10.

This fan is a bit heavy but once I started working with it, I really liked it. I dropped it several times and am amazed that it is still in excellent shape. I would definitely recommend this fan.

Bought both versions of the fan and they both equally look fabulous in person, very sturdy, details are great, use for decor but also strong enough to use for competitions and exhibitions.

I purchased this as a gift for my 10 year old niece who collects fans. I was really impressed with this. It seems well made, sturdy, and is larger than most other fans. It is also very beautiful. I'm not sure how well it would hold up in competition, but for exhibitions or just collections it's great.
