My family had a hand slicer similar to this that they had and used for over 20 years. It finally died and I thought we would try this one out. It did not work out well for us. It did not slice through the cheese very well at all, and the handle fell of after a month of use. It was not expensive, so I did not worry about sending it back or getting a replacement from this company. I guess I got what I paid for. I went elsewhere for our next one needless to say.

Great for hard cheeses, sucks for soft cheeses, as it tears the cheese brick while slicing instead of making a clean cut. Keep a wire cheese slicer for the softer or room temp cheeses, but for the harder or aged or smoked cheeses, this works fine!

Definitely shart, and the wide handle makes it easy to hold and use. However, was hoping it would do better with (cold) sharp cheddar than it does.

Works fine, expected it to be a bit sharper, but it serves the purpose. Works better on hard cheeses than soft ones.

Finally, a cheese slicer that doesn't bend when I use it! Good quality. The storage bag is also a real plus.
