Unfortunately I have to echo the sentiments of many other buyers. This cloth has a horrible chemical smell that does not go away after many washings. That is a shame as it is otherwise a well made product. Shame.

The blanket stinks terribly and there is enough black dye in the fabric to make a thousand sweatshirts. I decided to wash it because of the bad smell and I washed it in my bath tub because it's too big for my washing machine. On that note, the blanket is large and well built. However, after 6 rinses of dark black water there's no end in sight to effectively rinse the dye out to a managable level. So I would not use it for anything white or on top of anything white.

I ordered 2 and both have strong mildew odor that doesn't come out and white side turns grey after washing.

It's thick and heavy as expected, but smell very bad!
