I love the idea of this product.I installed this outlet into the side of my pickup truck bed, so that I could run corded power tools, or a portable refrigerator / freezer, while on the road, camping, picnics, and so on.I would have given it 5 stars, if the mounting brackets had been better designed to work with a thin mounting surface.Having said that, this product was never designed to be mounted in the way that I did it.To secure it so that it does not move around, after mounting it, and wiring it, I sprayed expanding foam insulation all around the outside of the box, especially in the corners, where the box meets with the truck side wall, inside the fender well.This spray foam adhesive is so strong, that it keeps the box from moving or shifting, and it both seals the box, and keeps the cord from moving around.I realize that this unit was not intended to be mounted in a moving vehicle, or in the side wall of a pickup truck bed.But, it is an excellent idea, and use, for this type of spring loaded electrical outlet.Please note that I only gave it 2 stars for ease of install, but that is primarily because of how I used the product, and not because of any inherent design flaw in the product itself.I would hope that the manufacturer would now make a version of this box, specifically intended to be mounted in the side wall of a pickup truck / moving vehicle.

1st time using this product it was a great product super easy to install,I’d recommend it and I’d also buy it again.I’m a master electrician in Connecticut I know what I’m talking about.

The media could not be loaded.  I like the product it's really good to have it in a place that you don't need to put cables on the floor for using computer. I edit in the middle of my coffee area so I can walk with my computer without connect to the wall every time I need to use power

This is a nice little unit, seems heavy-duty and reliable.For countertop installation in marble, it was NOT easy to install. The instructions are difficult to read/understand, and they don't document a countertop installation, so figuring out how to secure the unit was tricky.Also, I really had to fiddle with it during installation, since if it is misaligned to the electrical box even the slightest bit (which is easy to do with a countertop installation), it will not close at all. Additionally, that same misalignment will cause the securing screws to become impossible to term, leading to them becoming stripped.Installation - with all the time spent figuring out how to get it to work for a countertop installation, and troubleshooting the lid closing issue took about 3 hours, which is way longer than it should have taken.
