I needed to replace a makeup bag in my drawer at home which got a hole in it. I have an old Studio Basics makeup organizer that I take on trips, and thought that it made sense to get one for home and organize things so I can get ready more efficiently, and find items without digging through a bag. When I discovered Studio Basics no longer sells their bags with ring binder "pages", I went to Amazon and found this, which is very similar. It's actually a bit better, because the compartment on the left side zips closed securely, where my old one is a net compartment with a velcro closure. I was keeping my eye pencils in that compartment, and they were always coming out, although it was never a huge problem because the entire case zips closed. Nevertheless, because this has three zippered compartments rather than two, I decided to use this one for trips and keep the other one at home. I just took it on a plane to Seattle and it worked like a charm. I have brushes and primer in the right side, then foundation and powder in the first zippered compartment, followed by lipsticks, and eye makeup on the left side. There's also a zip compartment on the outside where I can keep makeup sponges. It's a great bag. The only two minuses are that the material of the bag is a faux patent, which shows makeup smudges more than the flat surface of my old bag. Also, there are some needless metal ring decorations on the outside which probably add a couple of ounces to the weight. I'm glad I bought it. It cost $34.95, probably not as cheap as my old one, but it does the job. After I bought this, I found something similar at Sephora, for $36, but it's not expandable with additional "pages". Static apparently sells additional "pages" but they don't appear to have a website, and Amazon doesn't have them.

Glad I made this purchase! The bag was larger than I expected but it still works for me. I like the brush compartments but take note that they are a little baggy, so if you have very thin brushes they might move around a bit. I fixed this problem by putting multiple brushes in one compartment. I found out that these bags are called "makeup planner" bags. I (like another reviewer) wanted to contact the company to see if they sold extra mesh bag inserts. I could not find the company's website but there is a tag that is attached to the bag when you first open it up that has the company's mailing address. I think you may have to contact them via snail mail. Still not sure if this company is still in business or not. One company that does sell the bags is Mineraloptions.com. I think if you research makeup planner bags you might stumble across the inserts. I would purchase this bag again in a heartbeat!

I used to have a binder bag like this, which I loved and completely wore out. I was happy to find this on Amazon, so I ordered it and couldn't wait to use it. I don't have a ton of makeup, but I couldn't fit all of it without straining the zipper. I ended up taking out the brushes, which helped, but the whole point was keep everything in it. Also, the plastic side pocket isn't as user-friendly as I'd hoped. I have to make sure everything is placed exactly the way I initially had it in order for the bag to properly close. That's not a huge deal, but I'm trying to keep everything contained, and in the morning I don't have the time/patience for precision. For as tight as everything is, I would've expected a compact bag, but this is larger---like a large planner. If you only have a few items plus brushes, this will work well for you.

I LOVE this makeup bag! I finally have one bag to fit all of my essentials and brushes. It seems to be good quality, although I haven't stuffed it beyond capacity (yet). It would be nice to have some of the additional pouches to insert, but I had a hard time finding where to purchase them individually. Overall, I'm pleased.

I Love this bag! I do wish it had other designs and prints to choose from. Which I couldn't find if there was. Its stores everything and then some. It does need different sizes on the brush holders. Because my smaller brushes are tiny and fall out. But it serves its purpose and I improvise

I bought this bag for my mother. She had a makeup bag similar to it for 10 years and it just got so warned out the last year she had to toss it. My sister and I decided to split the price and purchase this for her for Christmas. She loves this bag and almost cried when she saw it. It is a great bag!

I have searched long and hard looking for just the right makeup bag. This is perfect. As with all, I would make some minor changes, but I love it. I am looking for additional pouches to fit in the binder. Does anyone know where I can get these?

Holds ALL my makeup and brushes - with easy access. The only thing that would make it better is if the zipper for the main compartment was a double and could be opened from either end.
