Set the pole by inserting the sand spike into the separate loose pole then push/tap the spike vertically into the sand by sliding the loose pole up and down, stop when the loose pole touches the sand. This will set the pole height so the corner fabric columns are taut when filled with sand so they anchor your Cool Cabana. 2. Slide the closed Cool Cabana onto the pole and before opening the canopy extend the length of each main arm by pulling the extendable aluminium arm ends down until they click into position. Open the canopy by sliding the slider up until it stops. Alternatively, open the canopy then extend each arm one at a time by holding onto the extendable aluminium arm end and pulling it out until it clicks into position. 3. Your Cool Cabana is not anchored until all 4 sand pockets are filled with sand and all 4 corner fabric columns are taut. If any corner fabric column(s) sag then your Cool Cabana will sway in the wind causing damage. To prevent this partially bury the filled sand pocket(s) in the sand until all 4 corner fabric columns are taut.

Great product!
We have tried several different beach umbrellas, cabanas, etc. Every single one didn’t hold up to the wind and broke in half or turned inside out by the second day on the beach. After obsessively checking out reviews of various types of cabanas, we made our decision based on ease of use, price, and portability according to the reviews. The reviews don’t lie, this product was amazing. We used it every single day on the beach. It was incredibly easy to set up (took at most 5 minutes with two people), light weight, easy to carry, plus it did the job of blocking the sun. We even took it to the beach if there was a chance no one would use it. The only downside was that it was a little small and at times didn’t have much of a shaded area. If you are looking for something affordable that won’t break in the wind and is easy to set up and light weight, this is definitely the way to go!!!

SAD WASTE OF MONEY
Hi I really loved this cabana at first but after a year it started sagging and it would sway in the wind because it was no longer tight. We took it to the beach today and it completely broke. Had to junk it - see photo. I would not recommend this if you want something to go the long haul.

Perfect for a couple!
We purchased this for our trip to the Palm Coast near St. Augustine. This is perfect for 2-3 people. We wanted a tent that we would be able to put up and take down very quickly due to the storms that pop up. We were able to set it up in 3 min! We can take it down in less than 2 minutes. Just make sure you line the stake up correctly as you place it in the sand, because you can't turn it after that. (Flat sides of the stake are where your corners will be). The wind gusts have not caused a problem at all. We love it!

Best beach shade
I’ve tried them all! Every year I buy a new beach shade item. Always looking for lightweight, easy setup and won’t blow over......finally I found nirvana. I’m going to get rid of all the others an buy another one of these. I highly recommend, you won’t be sorry.

Lousy consumer relations
Three years ago we bought the CoolCabana. We used it on holiday at the beach for those three years for a total of 14 days, about 4.5 days per year. Until this year it broke in a wind gust. The warranty is for one year or 365 days. Based on our use of 14 days I asked the company, which is located in Australia, for a replacement. They responded that I could buy replacement parts from them which indicated the failure of structural parts in this product is a common occurrence. Because of their not so consumer friendly attitude I suggest you buy another product. Thx Amazon for this opportunity to review this product.

Very sturdy in the wind on the beach
Very sturdy in the wind on the beach. Very easy to put up and take down. Gives enough room for our family of 3 to sit in the shade. Wish we would've purchased one sooner.

A must have for the beach
Amazing for the beach, windy days no problems and super easy setup. I was bale to setup and take down in no time and what was even better was how well it withstood the wind. Its not as tall as the popup tents, but was tall enough to fit chairs under and rest comfortably.
