I bought this pedal in July, and stuck it on my board. It seemed to be very noisy when engaged, and not the normal slight hiss / hum that a high gain pedal will make when its turned up. This pedal makes a high pitched noise, but I didn't want to believe it was the unit, and I have since tried different power supplies, and have run it alone with no other pedals, straight into my amp. Nope. Still noisy. Unfortunately its basically unusable. Seems built well, and looks good, and maybe I got a bad example, but I can't say that its worth the price. I waited to review this because I really wanted it to be a decent pedal, so I tried it out in a few different setups. Too bad.

Has a nice dark shred sound. If you can’t afford a Mesa Boogie Throttle Box, this is the next best thing. Can’t beat it for the price. Well built metal enclosure, true bypass and no, it’s not noisy. It sounds great!

I got this for my Nephew. He rocks out every nite with a lot of enthusiasm. We are 2 months in, still works.

Demo'd one at a store, and it just sounded super muddy to me. Compared it against a vintage Ibanez SM-7 Smash Box, and was like night & day between the two.I didn't notice any noise, even at high gain, like others have mentioned, but I also didn't crank the volume since I was at a store.Build seemed good enough, so might be worth $30, but at that price you could get something better that's used.
