ROLA 59519 Accessory Shank Adapter

This item was made exclusively to raise up a bike rack so that it doesn't allow for the bikes to scrape the ground or come in contact with the exhaust. I am using it raise up a step-up bumper guard, so it sits above the exhaust, rather than in front of it.It's a perfect distance from the car for the bike rack, but not for my bumper guard, so I had to drill a hole to bring it closer. So, along with an anti-rattle device installed with it, it works great!

The measurement from the center of one pin hole to the center of the second pin hole is 6.5 inches in height and 9.5" in length. The back of the receiver is 6.5 inches from the center of the lower pin hole.The rating is weight rating is stated as 150 pounds with a 2000 lb tow hitch rating and 200 pounds with a 3500 pound tow hitch rating.I bought this for a class 1 hitch (200 pound tongue weight rating), so 150 pounds rated with the adapter works good for me.

Really glad we purchased this item to go with our Highland Sport Wing bike rack. It makes it so much easier to put the bikes on the rack and they aren't right on top of your back door . We received this product very quickly after we ordered it. It's very good quality. I feel much better knowing my back door of my Equinox isn't going to get scratched. One other nice thing is it's much easier to attach the bike and the bike racks because it's not so low to the ground and close to the vehicle.We would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an SUV and has a bike rack.

Had to send back. The opening is machined too small. Couldn't get my bike rack in it.

Good quality product, but beware that you do loose some of the weight capacity of the bike rack that you'll use with it. This is because the bike rack will sit higher and further away from the hitch/vehicle, causing more stress on the hitch and the rest of the set up. With this adapter, I wouldn't put more than 2 bikes on the bike rack. There is more detailed information about weight limits on the red label.

Saved my butt. I dropped about $400 on a hitch install and a carrier only to discover they would bottom out at most intersections with any change in level. This attachment made it all work how it was intended. No more carrier bottoming out. It's on a 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen with a 1.25" UHaul hitch.

Needed our bikes to ride a little further from the car and higher off the ground. The hitch adapter worked perfectly.
