These small pots are simple to assemble and look very crisp and contemporary sitting in my windowsill. The size is about perfect for the potted herbs I like to keep in my kitchen window, and the white color and square shape look clean and uncluttered. The pots include a white plastic exterior container and a dark plastic interior liner which sits about an inch off the base of the exterior container. A cotton wick extends from the interior container to the exterior container, as a conduit for water. A little meter fits into a corner of the pot and shows the water level -- whether all's well or you need to water. These pots are smallish and not very deep. Although they are 5.5 inches in height, the bottom inch or so is the reservoir -- you place your plant in the black liner pot, which sits inside the white plastic container. I transplanted herbs into these planters. There was some trauma with the transfers --- I think in part because the pots are so shallow I was unable to get the roots really stretched out -- but the plants all seem to be doing okay after two weeks. The pots come with three pellets of planting medium -- not exactly soil, but what you need to start seeds. I added a little bit of fertilizer to the planting medium. I can't really tell if it helped much, but I recommend it, as the pellets contain no particular nutrients to foster plant growth.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. The planters are the perfect size and shape for my needs, and they look good sitting in the windowsill. These planters are not fancy -- they're plastic, after all -- but they doo look good and they are a nice size for individual plants.

I chose a Jade Plant for this flower pot. Looks great beside all the other flower pots I have purchased from Amazon. I understand this pot also comes in gold, but I have not been able to find it listed. The person that answered my question in regards to the pot gave me the item number but when I typed it in on the Amazon website nothing was available on said pot. I really would love to have it in the gold color.
